What's new

MIL Bucks @ YOUR Utah Jazz.. tonight at 7pm mtn on ROOT

Quin is starting to have a quick hook with a number of players. Even Ingles wasn't exempt. I like that.
But Hayward...he's just been terrible. I think he's just trying to do too much. Now that we don't have Kanter, Jazz only have two threats on offense: Hayward and Favors. Teams know that and are shutting those two down. Only way around it is to improve our backcourt. Burks coming back will certainly help. But we need to replace Exum. He isn't ready. He can use practice to run around the perimeter doing nothing except passing off. We need a MAN running the point.

Is Millsap a better defender then both Carroll and Matthews? I just love the way he plays and noticed the teams defense has gotten better with every extra minute Millsap gets

I hear what you are saying, we DO need help on O. Another shooter or two would be a vast improvement. Burke is filling that role right now, but how often will he go 5 for 6 from 2 feet beyond the arc? One bit for Dante, we are winning with D right now and he is a big help there. He is abysmal on O though. What to do? Send him to D league?

Nope. If he doesn't improve enough next season, make him the 3rd PG. Or, perhaps Burke is the carrot we trade for a better starting PG. In that case, Exum is #2, but you make him compete with another PG for those backup minutes. He's had everything handed to him this season based on where he was drafted. He certainly hasn't EARNED his minutes.

Burke has shown lately he is an offensive threat. I agree that Exum isn't ready yet. He is going to take a few years but what worries me is that he is too nice of a kid. He needs to have more alpha dog in him.

Love your posts, but I think you're dead wrong on this point. Dante is in the starting lineup because it helps the team and not his development. Burke starting was terrible and they've both clearly improved the team by switching roles. And while I think Dante is not ready for his role or his minutes, he hasn't been handed anything. For as bad as he's been offensively, he's been at least as good (if not better) defensively. He's working his *** off. And I think that the emphasis on defense will pay off down the road when he grows into an NBA body and is more comfortable on offense.

Being there in person it was a pretty enjoyable game especially watching the defensive efforts.

Sent from the JazzFanz app

46 turnovers total, I can't imagine it being that fun to watch and I like defense but I wasn't there so I guess I would be excited too if I were at the game no matter how it played out.

I think the biggest difference is that both Carroll and Matthews are better offensively. However, I love Millsap defense ability and if he can improve his offense than the Jazz have found a diamond in the rough.

Lol @ people comaining about Exum. I'd love to have heard you guys talk about Gobert if he'd been allowed to play 25+ mins a night as a rookie:

"Oh, he can't catch the ball. He makes Ostertag look good. 5 fouls in 15 mins? This guy will never be good. Send him to the D League. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

Lol

Rudy looked lost at imes, but he was out there giving a ton of effort and showing a passion for the game. Exum has not shown ANY passion. He's probably the softest player in the NBA right now. If he were putting up 3 points per game, but trying to get to the rim, trying to make something happen, it would be different. Even Lindsey said he's a "placeholder" when he's in the game.

If Utah had 3 PG's, there's no way Dante should be getting minutes. But when the other PG is completely freezing the Jazz' best player out of the game and chucking up 15 shots, yes, you have to make a change. Exum has NOT earned minutes. But who else would the Jazz have played? I think they purposely shortchanged themselves at the position so Exum wouldn't feel threatened. And I think that was a mistake. Let him feel the heat. Let him lose minutes to a hungrier player. How else do you wake up a player who sleep walks his way through the offense?

There is absolutely no correlation between the two. Gobert was still an elite rebounder and shot blocker as a rookie. If you think Exum's game hints at being elite at something, present your facts instead of "lol-ing"

I thought that Rudy was ready last year. He never had trouble catching the ball. It got slapped out his hands a lot is true.

I like Dante, support him and his selection, but come on, are you in any way shape or form happy with his O and his aggression? Never seen an NBA player with his timidity.
