I've got +2 and I think I will get in the neighborhood of +5. Depending on how I count RSVPs we're somewhere between 7-16 right now. I prefer the more conservative methodology, so I'd say we're at a soft 10. Anyway, don't wait too long and miss out. If you want in get in.

I'm planning on coming. But I don't want to commit to a gathering a month in advance. Who knows what's going to be happening in a month? Just last week, I had to take an unexpected trip to Denver. I'll confirm once we're a bit closer.

Oh, and it's fine to RSVP if you plan to come as long as you cancel if you have a change in plans. By RSVPing I hold a spot for you. If the tournament fills up I tell any additional interested persons that I will let them know if a spot opens up, and generally there is a little shuffling as the date gets closer. I don't mind at all as long as people let me know if they aren't going to show up as soon as they can. The only frustrating thing is if several people who RSVP'd don't show up and don't say anything. Especially frustrating if I turned people away.
And this is a good place to mention that the same goes for being late. Being late isn't a problem at all as long as you let me know. And it's not really a problem even if you don't let me know if it's only going to be a few minutes.
The way I do it is every RSVP gets a stack of chips and is assigned a seat, whether they're here or not. Blinds are removed from their stack in turn. Cards are dealt to every stack, but players not in their seat have their hand folded immediately after all hole cards have been dealt.
The stacks remain live until the first break (after 1hr) at which time any players who have not contacted me and who have not shown up have their stack removed from play and no longer have the option to join the game. If someone has contacted me and told me that they will be showing up even after the first break their stack will remain live until they get here.
The only frustrating thing being if many players are late. It's hard to start the game with three people at one table and two at the other when there's supposed to be 16-20 players showing up. So I definitely appreciate it if people make an effort to get here with enough time for me to buy everyone in and have everyone seated by the scheduled start time.
