Hayward Sprained AC - Questionable for Monday

All jokes aside, I would shut him down for the year (13 games).

Absolutely no upside on playing your franchise player and risking a more serious injury.

Don't think there is a lot of risk for more serious injury, similar to playing on a sprained ankle.

Yeah no point playing him big minutes now, we're well and truly out of the playoff race.

Bad idea. I have no idea how severe this injury is, but you play him when he is healthy enough to play. This team needs minutes together to continue to build chemistry.

that is true but i would think at least don't rush him back & take the opportunity to give the team some time to figure out how to play without him ?

Yeah, I mean, I trust the medical/coaching staff to make the right decision on his health, but he should be working towards coming back.

What will the franchise do without our only true "Franchise Player?" Well, he better hurry back because soon we will know that Hood is better and Jingles is the same exact player as Hayward.

I'm not going to dismiss this point entirely, as I agree somewhat, but there can be other benefits to development and team chemistry that come from Gordo sitting out some games, such as other players having to step up and take a bigger role. Exum and Hood especially could benefit from having to carry more responsibility.

I disagree. Anytime you have a sprain, you're forced to overcompensate by using the other side more or unnaturally to take pressure off the injured side. Shut Gordon down for at least 1 week. And this is on the heels of having a back that is still hurting.

Give him at least a week of treatment. No more playoff push. Like Freak said, give some others a chance to step up and build them a little more. It can only help moving forward.

This.

Season's over. It's sink or swim time.

OK, so there is less risk of injury then with a sprained ankle then. He's not bearing weight on his arms.

If we get a major injury between now and the end of this season to one of our core players I will be pretty bummed. That is all I thought when Hayward hit the ground on that play.
