Sip some of this sweet nectar....

#1-No Brewer, Mathews, Korver, Boozer, Kosta, or Collins :)

#2-No Okur

#3-A total new starting frontline-Millsap into the starting line up with the addition of Jefferson learning the offense

#4-3 of the 5 starters are new starters to the team

#5-Raja Bell is old and sucks

And we are exactly on par for what the Jazz have done the last few seasons!
There are not many teams in the league that could lose that many key players and have 3 new starters and stay at the same level of play.

The Jazz have had huge amounts of change and it should be praised they have been able to stay at this same level of success this early in the season. So here have a sip.....

"Same level of success" = Same level of failure

Good enough to make the playoffs. Not good enough to go deep. So yep, Groundhog Day Jazz. Cheers to that, eh.

But we aren't headed in a direction consistent with our record. Our record has been falling and there is no sign of anything that will cause it to recover.

I just can't believe that people are jumping ship this early. Seriously, why not wait until we are half way through the season before ... oh, wait.

Meh....truth is the guy is right. Actually, if we reverse the sequence of events to: team sucks, then gels and goes 15-5, there is a whole different discussion around this place. But, since we went from third best record in the NBA to borderline missing the playoffs, its a much tougher pill to swallow.

I am just amazed that people that the home crowds are not nearly as sour as this board. With confidence where it is, I think crowd energy has been a big deal for this team during the last 3 home games.

And it's a good thing that the home crowds are not like this board--I couldn't imagine that would be good for the collective community health. Biggest bunch of manic depressives I've ever seen here. Swinging from delirious highs one moment to the depths of despair the next. No roller coaster in the world that can compete with the ups and downs at this place.

Whatever, bro. It's not like the team is completely different from last year. Even if it was, professionals should be able to pick up a new offensive fairly quickly and immediately pwn the NBA. I mean look at the Spurs, they were playing championship basketball all last season, and look at them now. Bunch a chumps.

Jazzfanz aren't manic depressive. Their rock solid, rational reactions to this team's performance is based in pure logic and historical fact.

Duh.

We have said it before and will say it yet again. It is possible to cheer on your team and like your players and even at times your coach and owner and all that and STILL be dissatisfied with the direction they are heading. Dichotomies do exist and are not alway contradictory in the classical sense. It is the sign of a mature and intelligent mind to be able to entertain 2 or more conflicting thoughts at the same time.

As it is the sign of an irrational mind to swing wildly from highs to lows and back again in a repeated pattern.

You got that right, so stop doing it.

Why stop doing it? I'm describing, not prescribing. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. It's all part of the experience of being a fan.

And I'll admit freely that like many other fans, I'm susceptible to it too. That doesn't make it any less of an accurate observation.

No need to get your panties all in a twist.

You are the one throwing invectives around without qualification. Panty-boy.

No, you're the one imagining I'm throwing invectives around. All I've done is observe a tendency among posters to this board to swing irrationally from highs to lows, etc. I've further observed that this is a common tendency among fanatic supporters of athletic teams, and I've conceded that I'm as guilty as the rest of this behavior.

People who throw invectives around usually do so with animus, often in response to imagined slights, or because they're pissed that they got bested in an argument. All of which, coincidentally, appear to apply to you.

Oh yeah! Yer face!

(I just don't take things as seriously as most people on this board do. It is all just for fun. Lighten up.)
