David Locke toasts Kanter on 1280

You don't have to worry about it anymore, as he'll never be on our team again.

Also, as said before, I don't think it was just Locke. But he sprang to my mind. Your large market argument doesn't hold a lot of water to me. Around the league, Salt Lake is known as having the most opinionated/engaged fanbase. While the scrutiny is high on a national stage in markets like NY and LA, I think it is safe to say that the ferocity of judgement is just as severe, if not moreso, here.

Also, I'm not excusing Kanter. What he did was immature, wreckless, and will cost him fans and potentially dollars. It cost his team a win.

I just think there is some of the pregame that was taken out of context, and some of it could've been said to protect himself from the boos he thought he'd hear. Those who study psych know this behavior all too well. Some people who fear impending confrontation will sometimes create a confrontation. Also, he's immature, has a language barrier, and watches too much wrestling. But he's lying when he said the boos didn't bother him. He wants to be loved, and fearing he wouldn't get it, he created the opposite.

My theory.

****ing shame too. Some would have booed him, but most would've been fine with the trade request I feel. It was addition by subtraction with Rudy and Derrick.

Those are good points. I can get behind most of this except for the comment about the large market argument. Try living in Philadelphia for a few years. The fans there will not hesitate to mercilessly turn on a player not performing well, and the media is the exact same way. Granted, they'll also love players that perform well, but it's a fragile relationship.

Contrastly, the Jazz media by and large coddles the Utah players. Kanter would've been absolutely shredded in the media for his defense well before he demanded a trade if he was in Philly. In Utah, it got talked about here and there by the media, but before he left I don't remember it ever being anything other than mild at best.

There are soo many different variables. Have you seriously never considered the improved play before the break, Dante starting over Trey for defense, Rudy playing more, etc? Thise are all HUGE factors. OKC has had a very similar record to us post all star break, and Enes has been the second option on that team. Sure, their defense hasn't been great, but they've also lost three of their better defensive players (Ibaka, Roberson and Durant) and were without another until recently (Adams). I gaurantee OKC defense with all players healthy will be much better than it is now. OKC fans realize this too, because they haven't been trained to scapegoat. Yes, Kanter sucks at defense half the time, but lots of really good teams have hidden players like that.
There are so many variables and the Jazz were usually worse in most aspects when it had to do with Kanter. Now that he's gone, the team is completely different and reborn, and Kanter has made a complete *** of himself at the Jazz's AND the Thunder's expense. What else you got? Help me understand how him being an out and out cancer is even a discussion.

Very disappointing response. I was hoping you would give examples and facts but instead said "jazz are worse with Kanter, team is completely different blah blah." You literally didn't respond to a single thing he said. The fact that the Thunder are winning without Ibaka and Durant. The fact that the Jazz were improving even before the trade. The fact that Kanter played very well and was perfectly complimented by Ibaka. Literally nothing...

Don't pretend like you're interested in a real discussion. But to play along, it's perfectly reasonable to assert that the team's growth in that .500 stretch was tempered by the existence of a blackhole, as evidenced by their much-improved stretch when he was traded. Macro > micro.

I was interested in a defense against that because only thing people like you and KD's family do is "Kanter sucks, **** CANCER LOL." Looks like your guys defense is worse than Kanter's.

What is your angle? Are you just a contrarian? A Turk? Most metrics over the last two years and every big picture piece of information points to one screaming conclusion. I also happen to be a Jazz can which puts a granite capstone on top of all of this.

It's pretty clear from some of the revelations in the past few days that Kanter hurt the team in more ways than just playing poor defense.

I don't think he meant to throw the organization under the bus as much as he did - it's obvious from some of what he says that more kinda slipped out than he intended. Better coaching from an agent would probably mitigate things like this for most players.

That being said, it's hard to defend a guy when his trade immediately improved us and then he lashes out at an organization that certainly TRIED to help him. Ultimately, I'm happy he said the things he did because it completely ends the idea of keeping him as being on the table.

This is absolute bull****. I presented my argument in about as civilized a manner as you can ask, with ample evidence to back it up.

You, on the other hand, constantly find yourself in over your head when you try to argue basketball with anybody here, and in every instance resort to personal attacks.

How dare you accuse me of blowing off good debate for the sake of trolling when that is literally all you have done in this and countless other topics.

I have always said dRTG for INDIVIDUAL players is useless, and I have explained countless times why. It just never sunk with you. I never said dRTG for teams as a whole is bad, and I have always advocated it.

All anybody needs to do to verify this is check the first link I posted. It's all there. All you're doing now is proving my point.

Straw man and backpedaling.
