It'll be one of the first few brews I make when I get my new system up and running.

This might not mean anything to most people reading this, but I'll be gaining 50% more mash tun space with my new system which will make it possible for me to make bigger beers (like UGLI Baby) with all grain instead of adding DME during the boil. I just modified my current recipe for UGLI Baby to one that will fit my new system and it fits perfectly with an abv conservatively estimated at 9%.

I'm excited to use my new system for a Russian Imperial Stout, too! I've had the name worked out for a while, Rockwell Invincibility Stout (the style, Russian Imperial Stout, is commonly referred to be the acronym RIS).

I've been talking to myself in this thread for a bit so I'm just gonna let it ride. There will be an awesome poker game on April 11th. If you want in let me know. I'll answer questions posted in this thread and late next week I'll post an update as well as PM those who have RSVP'd. Other than that I hope to see you at the game.

Unfortunately I just don't think it would work as far as maintaining the integrity of the game. Someone has to manipulate the cards and chips and there are specific rules as to verbal actions and physical actions at the table that could cause confusion and/or contention.

But hey, flights from LA to SLC are cheap. My wife will be out of town and I'll have a spare room.
 
Bottom line though is that this is going to be an awesome game. There will be a lot of interesting people there that you may have felt one way about interacting with them online and end up with a different understanding meeting them in person. I put on what I consider (and I feel I'm qualified to offer an opinion) a first class poker game. I'll be serving up what I consider high quality home brew.

Word on the street is that a mystery donor will be ordering pizza for the event. (my deepest gratitude to said mystery donor)

I was motivated to do this because Siro and Jamezz met up and I was jealous. I want to meet as many of the weird and wonderful Jazzfanzers as I can. I know I haven't met the most of you compared to a few others, but I think I'm up there. It has always been a rewarding experience for me.

I think these games are good for this community. I think this community is good for these games.

I know planning so far in advance can lead to a sort of fatigue. Some people need the notice. Other people can't make promises more than one week out. It's all good. The game will be there. If you want in get in.

I would like to come but don't really like Poker. I might come and just hang out and watch the game after if that's okay.

Ya, just come watch the game bro. I'm gonna wait until the jazz game to start in on the bourbon anyway so that will be the best part
