Paul Pierce: Deron Williams doesn't want to be the guy

I think you are over-stating his "attitude". He just doesn't deal well with media and that is all you get in NYC. He needs to be home in Utah.

Imagine Favors/Dwill pick n rolls.

If the media were the only factor, then Utah would be ideal. I honestly don't see that happening though.

I miss old DWill for sure, but I'm not sure that guy is in there anymore. Too bad... too bad for Brooklyn that is.

Sometimes I wish all dickbrains like paul pierce couldn't heal from injury and had some other bro *** always pointing the finger at him.

I just don't see what he brings that would really help us right now that wouldn't be offset by that attitude. I think he would do more damage than good, and by the time our guys hit their real stride in 3 years or so and we are chasing championships he will be old and broken down. I think we are better off looking elsewhere regardless of price.

I think the reality is that he's old and broken down now.

A guy like Paul Pierce, who was nearly stabbed to death, looks at Deron's injury history and just thinks "*****"

Deron is under contract for 2 more years at 21/22 million per year. A trade for Deron is absolutely out of the question, so this thread is pointless. Just a lame attempt by a Kanter homer to throw shade on another former player.

I like how Pierce won one championship on a stacked team and thinks he knows how to win. Bro you know how to be on stacked teams.

Instead of D-Will, let's sign Tony Parker. I saw Rudy Gobert retweet something about Tony and their common nationality suggests they'll want to play with each other.

I know I certainly love all other Americans based only upon our shared nationality.

Right now do we need to take that risk? We have a good a vibe as I've ever seen on a jazz team. Why even risk that?

That changes when you're suddenly not in the majority anymore. We ran into some Americans in the train station a couple weeks ago here and it was like we were old friends.

He may have only won a single championship, but in his prime, he did some incredible things night in and night out for the Celtics. The year that they won the Championship, Boston had a 3 veteran player combo consisting of Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. All of whom were all stars, but saying that Pierce succeeded due to a "stacked" team is off skew. Pierce had been carrying the Celtics for a while with quite a bit of success. When the Celtics acquired Garnett and Allen it lifted the Celtics to the next level, but keep in mind they were all in their declining years. Much like the Spurs combo 3 have been for the last 5 years. I wouldn't call them a stacked team. Pierce continued to do what he always did, dominate. In fact I have to give Pierce credit for sticking with Boston. Players in his situation today would have left. He continued to be loyal to the Celtics. He didn't run off and join a team of caliber all stars. He stayed on a team through success and failure and eventually they brought sub-prime declining stars to him. How could you not respect the man?
