lets show Kawhi the $$$

I think front office should offer Kawhi the max $ and see if he bites. Favors, Kawhi, rudy in the front line ...wow. we can always move Hayward to SG or trade him....

He's restricted. It's clear he's worth a max deal, so why wouldn't the Spurs just match?

edit: in fact, it won't even come down to that:

Kawhi Leonard, Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, will be a restricted free agent this summer, which means the Spurs can match any offer he may receive. While there would be no shortage of teams lining up to sign Leonard to a four-year max offer sheet that would force San Antonio’s hand, he’s not planning to go that route, mainly because he won’t have to.

From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

For now, there’s no scenario where Leonard plans to pursue offer sheets on the market, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Leonard wants to be a Spur, and the Spurs are expected to come calling on July 1 with the max offer that they resisted delivering Leonard in the preseason, a move born out of preserving cap space to bring on a star free agent this summer.

isn't that what jazz management said about Hayward, and New Orlean still sign Hayward to the max offer sheet?

also, even if he is restricted, he can always sign qualifying offer for 1 year and become un-restricted the next year

And Charlotte's offer was matched. I don't see why we should tie up money that can be offered to someone else when we know 100% that he'll resign with the Spurs.

We'd have a better chance of finding Bigfoot eating unicorn meat while drinking Crystal Pepsi from the Holy Grail than signing Kawhi.

Especially since the Jazz will have to shed salary just to make the offer. Best option for this offseason is to get the best player in the draft that they can, bring Tomic over and get Burks back healthy. Then see which players fall out of favor with their teams or force their way out. Although, with cap space still being tight this offseason, that big move might still have to wait until 2016.

I never heard the Jazz say that. And they never did offer him their max contract they just matched the one he received. Why would he turn down a max contract to sign a one year QO? Maybe he wants free agency and more money in a few years but I think that will be worked out with the Spurs if he does.
.
Bottom line is he and Butler are pipe dreams. So put down the pipe and think of something else.

Dear god if one more person suggests this I think I'll leave the board.

IT. AINT. HAPPENING.

Consider lurking for 2-3 more years.
