Anyone know if Chris McCullough is able to do drills?
This is my favorite time when teams overrate players based on track and field events. Unfortunately some guys will just get measured and not tested.
Guys that might fall based on this testing... Frank the Tank, Russell, Stanley Johnson (not a leaper)... Guys that will rise Winslow, Mudiay, WCS...
I love the measurement part of the pre-draft. Some dude who says he's 7' really measures out at 6'9". There is always some guy who is way shorter than he is listed and his stock drops like a rock. I also love the w/out shoes and w/shoes measurements. Some guys are 4" bigger with their shoes on. If I was in the draft, I'd get some six inch heels. Me thinks Frank The Tank is going to get killed in workouts.
Who knows. He would be on the fringe area of guys who workout. Usually the consensus top 5 sit out, then some dudes who agents want to act like their player should be top 5 also sit out. Porz could be part of the latter group or his agent may want him to show what he can do.
You must be one that thinks leaping means athetic abilty. Stanley Johnson is athletic . Don't let his grown man game fool you
I didn't say it was right or wrong, but the knock on Stanley is he's not an explosive athlete... translation - some guys don't think he lightening quick or has a good vertical. I never said he was unathletic... I was actually mocking the process.
Strength is a part of athleticism... I don't think track and field events display basketball athleticism properly. Athletic testing is next to worthless in my opinion.
Isn't the NBA Combine mostly a publicity stunt which is trying to generate revenues similar to the way the NFL has with its own combine?
It's an offseason business plan... not a window into the soul of the game.
Mudiay is skipping the entire combine.

Emmanuel Mudiay won't accept his invitation to the Chicago NBA draft combine, sources tell RealGM. He'll continue training on west coast.
That is strange. I wonder what he hopes to gain.
