I'm All in For Portis and Connaughton

First Portis is a big, was MVP of the SEC (remember that is the league that this little school called Kentucky plays in), he had similar stats as Frank the Tank, is younger and appears to be able to space the floor given his .467 3 point percentage. Connaughton should be a second round pick, is a shooter and likes SLC because of what Cooley had to say about it. I think both would add to team chemistry.

I wouldn't hate that outcome as Portis will probably be a solid pro, but he is not as an exciting pick as a few others.

I could live with Portis and Connaughton as our picks.

I won't hate whatever DL does (simply because I have a lot of faith in the front office), but I would find this result very underwhelming. Similar to when they moved up for Trey Burke.

Much rather try to move up for one of Johnson, Porzingis or Turner and then see what they can finagle with the 2nd pick. Would gladly see them trade picks and cash to jump up into the late 1st / early 2nd range to grab somebody that falls or has great upside.

Jazz have a solid core, and a developing bench. I'm hoping for two good players out of the draft and a quality free agent to add to the mix for next year.

So I guess this means that Portis will suck and be a D leaguer if he's got the homeytennis endorsement.

Sorry Cy. Portis is a no go for me.

Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see Utah move up. But if it doesn't happen, Portis might be BPA and also fill a need next year if Trevor books somewhere else for too much money. Connaughton is a good shooter. He could get some mins off the bench, which is about all you can expect from a 2nd rounder. I don't think they'll go PG. Cotton has the 3rd spot wrapped up and Trey if/when he's dealt, will be traded for a vet.

Looney got the better of Portis during their workout here.

He is extremely long and is younger.

Still not sold on Portis at #12, but I'm becoming interested in Pat Connaughton because he reminds me of Matthew Dellavedova physically.

If the Jazz were to use him like the Cavs use Delly - get the ball to the wings and let them run the offense - and just play good, physical defense on the PG. . . I could see them using him as a non-traditional PG in their system. Especially as a 3&D guy like they used Exum last year. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see him as either a traditional PG or SG. . . more of as a specific role player.

Anyways. It's a thought. He's been rising on my board to the point that I'd probably draft him at some point in the 2nd round.

I like Pat because he can shoot and that's what everyone says we need.

We're getting Tomic. Darft an elite shooter pls. Or BPA + trade.
