No, find a guy as short and as heavy - could be shorter or heavier - who has been successful in the NBA. The point is, it is really hard to be a good NBA player when you are that short and that heavy - it's just a fact. It is a fact that guys with those measurements are incredibly rare success stories in the NBA.

LBJ is 6-9 270 and can guard all 5 positions. I know he doesn't fit under ur argument of height, but the point is it depends on how u carry that weight. I'm not a fan of Johnson but his weight is not the problem it's an advantage

Hey, it's clear you feel the Jazz don't need to acquire talent like Hood or Gobert at this point. Seems a little strange that you wouldn't want to add players of that caliber, but to each his own. It's okay.

Don't think u can just count on finding a Gobert that late in every draft. We were extremely lucky

Gobert was projected as a lottery pick for nearly a year then fell off for some reason ( I think injuries). Grabbing a late round pick for him makes sense, especially when he fit a major hole in our roster.


There is no one like that in this draft and we have no major holes. We have a lot of young guaranteed contracts we need to develop and a few partially guaranteed I think the Jazz like more than the lack of talent this draft has to other in the late first/early 2nd round.

That wasn't the point that made me lol. It's cute you think that for some strange reason we can find a Gobert and a Hood in 13 and 14, but in 15, that guy simply won't be there. late first and second round steals littered throughout the history of the NBA draft, but in 2015, no chance. Still cracks me up.

I have history.

Several alright comparisons have been given physically. Ron Artest being the closest one in my opinion. Basically same height/weight, with Artest having about 2 inches in wingspan.

I'll help you out SJF. So far, his weight hasn't hindered his perimeter defense at all. It does however give him the ability to play some defense down low due to good lower body strength and girth. The only problem is that he's relied on it to play bully ball on offense, which just isn't going to work in the NBA.

I see his size as more of a positive than a negative. I mean, the dude has like 7% body fat. He's not fat, he's just built like a rock.

It didn't hinder his defense in a watered down NCAA. Get back to me when he's trying to defend NBA wings.

OKC has shopped Perry Jones, Jeremy Lamb and Steve Novak the last few days, per league sources. Financially motivated, but looking for pick.

I feel like I'm one of the only people left one Perry Jones III Island...and I haven't given up on Lamb yet. They both have so much talent, but it seems like it come down to lack of effort with them. Wonder if a couple second rounders would get us PJ3. Funny how Lamb was one of the assets they got in the Harden trade, and now they're gonna pay Kanter 15mil while they let Harden walk.

I'm still here on PJ3 Island. But I keep a low profile. I would love to get PJ3 for one or both of our second rounders.

Larry Johnson is another - a bit longer, but again, a decent comparison. I didn't say it was impossible, just that it's extremely rare. If you like Stanley enough to take that risk, fine - just don't be surprised if he's outside the top 10.

I'm still here on PJ3 Island. But I keep a low profile. I would love to get PJ3 for one or both of our second rounders.

Not a fan of any of those dudes as our 4th wing. I still think it's best to either keep Ingles/Sap or going out and signing a solid vet 4th wing (or draft a lottery level talented one like Dekker/Oubre/Johnson) as our 4th.

Who has failed?

It's a rare body size. Doesn't mean it has a lower success rate than the other more typical body sizes.

I mean, you know how many 6'7 225 lb wings have failed in the NBA? A lot.
