So according to reports Bledsoe can be had... and maybe for cheaper than I would have thought. I really like him as a fit for us because we have other guys like Hood and Hayward that can run the half court offense.

Let's say the cost is Burke, Burks and a draft asset or two... Are you in?

This would allow us to go sign a Wes Matthews, Danny Green, etc. because we'd have a starting spot open. We could sign them first and then have finalize the trade with PHX, so it wouldn't be that risky.

The downside is it would be a very public hedge against Exum not developing... wonder how he'd handle it.

I really like the idea of Bledsoe locking up the opposing pg and adding a shooter vet to this squad... think it would really accelerate the rebuild. Bled is also young so it's not like we are selling out our future.

I don't think Trey has much value and Alec spent nearly all of last season with an injury. If I'm the Suns I'd fish for a better package.

Didn't Pho let Dragic and Thomas go to keep Bledsoe?

Why would they get rid of him too? For Knight?

If people think Horny is an awesome coach and he doesn't want Bledsoe anymore, why would we want him?

Here's something on Phoenix' page on RealGM:

So yah, they want Favors and Burke too... and are willing to give us Collison, Nik Stauskas, Reggie Bullock and PJ Tucker in return. What a blockbuster of a deal that is. On reddit there is already an offer Bledsoe for Favors straight up.

My conclusion roaming those celtics boards and now the Suns' ones is that they think Utah is just waiting for the first offer to come to send away Favors for their garbage cuz... reasons.

Not sure of their motives... he is believed to be available.

I would want more too, but Horny coached Burks and likely knows what he is capable of... they need a 2 guard. The reason they might take less is there is not a huge market for starting point guards right now and some of the teams that need them don't have the assets to go get Bledsoe (Sac, Knicks, Mavs).

I hate that for us obviously... do people not know the Morri are likely going to jail at some point?

I still hate that trade, but there may be a lesser deal that we could get Collison and I'd be happy with that deal. He could be a steady vet off the bench to help us through the highs and lows of Exum.

I certainly wouldn't give Favors for Bledsoe, but I do have some interest. I'm not sure what exactly his health is like though. So that's a little bit of a concern.

It depends on what they want, but I'd define interested in him. He is a stud when he is right.

See what Jody Gennesy has done?

He's made Favors out to be trade fodder to fan bases around the NBA.

Burke/Burks and maybe a draft asset would be a solid deal to me. And I'm not sure we'd have to go out to sign another wing either. I think we could roll with something like:

Bledsoe/one of Cotton/Hanlan
Exum/Millsap/Ingles
Hayward/Hood/Ingles
Favors/Booker/Lyles
Gobert/Pleiss

Obviously we could go out and try to sign a wing, but I'm not sure we'd need to. Hayward/Hood/Exum could be a solid 3-man rotation with Millsap/Ingles filling it out depending on need (Millsap was actually really good statistically last season.

I'd rather bring Dante off the bench and sign someone... even if it was someone in the Dunleavy, Belinelli bargain bin or trading some cap space and something else for Kevin Martin. I'd start Hood in that scenario.

part of the appeal to me is to make better use of our cap space this year.

But c'mon, wouldn't it be fun winning games without scoring 80 points? But nah, signing a guy would be nice too, I think I was just trying to say I don't think we'd need to have a guy lined up before pulling the trigger on a deal like this because I think we'd be fine either way.

A lineup up of Bledsoe/Exum/Hayward/Favors/Gobert would be terrifying defensively.

And fast in transition... we'd be the fastest paced 80 pt. per game team ever!

This. Players are people too. This doesn't help in making Favors feel welcome and appreciated. And I think that's the exact reason why LMA is leaving Portland. If the goal is to alienate a player and make him want him to leave, then spreading rumors is a great way to do it.

Amen...

Derrick has talked about how he was always hearing rumors in New Jersey and he didn't like it. Regardless if he should just be a grown man and not care, it's still a real possibility it pushes him away and at least makes him consider playing somewhere else, or asking for a trade.

It's irresponsible as a fan and a beat reporter to even talk of such things.

If you are going to throw his name out in trade rumors, the least you could do is put him in rumors for good players. Not draft picks and a Paul Millsap replacement. Good hell, that is insulting.

Players are people too.
