What's new

Head Coach Jerry Sloan to resign today :(

during the two Rose FTs last night, they showed Sloan on the bench drawing up a play on the clipboard. maybe Deron just chucked Sloan's play, and that was the last straw?

Sloan needed to go after the Jazz were swept in 08-09 by the Lakers.

Any other franchise wouldve fired him after a few years of showing no improvement. He was kept onboard out of loyalty, but as you can see loyalty doesnt mean that much in sports when you arent producing results.

Its a great move and shows that the Jazz Organization is finally wanting to start a new era and achieve something they couldnt for the last 23 years with Sloan.

Dont get me wrong Sloan is one of the greatest coaches of all time, but every coach loses something. Hence why there are so many coaching changes. Jerry Lost is after 07-08

Amazing. Sloan was the coach of this team when I started following the Jazz, back in 88. I've never seen a Jazz game with anyone else as the head coach.

"many players questioned Sloan's handling of everything from playing time and rotational decisions to his insistence on sticking with his revered offensive system."

So, are we going to a different system or we will play it out this season?

In any case, I think we need more scoring off the bench and still think Millsap and the Jazz will be benefited by having him in the 2nd unit.

The Jazz don't have any time to implement a new system this season. They'll keep the current system for the rest of the season. After this season, it's all up in the air.

The Jazz need more shooting. Whether it's off the bench or starting. When AK is leading your team in 3 point %. You have shooting issues.

I sat roughly 25 feet from Deron as he overhand fired a ball at Haywards head, not as a pass but out of frustration and to dress down a rookie. It was a frustrating game in which Deron didn't play all that well but made it worse by doing that.

Listen, I love Deron.......guy is a beast but this season has shown some things about his personality that aren't conducive to leadership in the locker room. Again, this is all my opinion but I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb here.

True colors of Deron maybe? It didn't take long after Carlos left that the pressure of the Jazz being unmistakably his, that he cracked.

An end of an era.

Here's my bet, Deron just obliterated our team and will now leave when he gets the chance.

This team better play really hard (after "getting their way")... it's their lack of effort that lost us games... not the coaching.

Just a few personal thoughts:

-It would have NEVER gone down like this if Larry H. was still alive. Never.

-I have a bad feeling that Deron had a lot to do with it. Not feeling too good about him moving forward.

-Sloan certainly had his faults, but those who think this is a great thing for the Jazz are *******s.

Deron? Well, maybe Deron was the only with cajones in the organization to force what needed to be done. The Jazz have been going downhill and Sloan seemed to have zero solutions.

Wasn't it Coach who wanted to ball to be pushed more (ala Watson's play)? If so, why the F' would Deron be upset about this. I assume Deron would like that style of play more!!
