I don't have a problem with it being in the job description, and I don't have a problem with him being fired if the prohibition is in the job description. That being said, it does seem a little extreme for a first offense if he was otherwise a good employee.

Holy cow we aren't even in the same world as 2003 anymore. Did they have indoor plumbing back then? Wow. Whoever wrote that article must have done so with a rock on a dirt floor in their cave while their wife cooked up some wooly mammoth.


That said, to me it sounds like a guy they already had it out for, or who had potentially already been on the **** list somehow, and this was a convenient excuse to fire him. It happens.

My ex-g/f worked as an accountant for Arizona Ice Tea (which I think has since gone out of business). Her choice of beverages at the job was water, coffee or Arizona Iced Tea - caught drinking ANY other juice, brand tea or soft drink on the job and you were subject to immediate termination.

However they did provide their iced tea free of charge to the employees on the premises.

The green party all the way. Freaking love Mtn Dew. It's crazy. It's not the caffeine. I can only drink it at lunch time. But I love the way it tastes. Solar 7-11 flavor...yum. The light green and red from taco bell...yum. Good old fashioned yellow on a hot summer's day. tasty.

That is my vice. Mtn Dew. That is my cheat during the week. Mtn Dew. Mmmmmmm.
