So finally even that "everything is positive" crappy site called facebook is doing it soon.

Do we need another reason för this to happen?

Work your magic Jase! You da man!

I post therefore I am...

I'd much rather prefer to dislike than neg rep.
Neg rep only when something is foul and inappropriate,
or when you just really don't like a certain poster.

Problem with the dislike button is trolls are gonna troll and what's to stop them from disliking every single posts?

So.. I don't think that's good for the site.

Make it so when it's abused or used excessively that the user gets the option removed.

Yeah cos with the current system, 1) you only get limited neg' to give out per day, and 2) the other person can retaliate with a neg, which limits the amount of neg you would give out somewhat.

With the like/dislike system, there is potential for abuse if there aren't measures in place to curb it....

I think dislike buttons are just fuel for drama.

Do we need more drama and less discussion? If so, add the drama button. If we need less drama, get rid of the rep system.

maybe a "I disagree with your point of view" button. Because let's be honest if someone wants to create drama they do it with a troll comment.

I'd rather not dislike, nor would I like to.

(Bet a lot of you would like to dislike that post!)

:)

I "like" a post that's good and I agree with. I "rep" a post that exceeds that. The "dislike" button would be one that I would use if I disagreed with the post. Trade threads would be excellent for the Dislike Button because I hate them all. If someone is such a ***** that they would get their feelings hurt because someone dislikes their post, maybe they should stop posting. Speaking of stopping posting, that sounds like a damn good idea and I'm done with this.

Do people really care about likes and dislikes? If this is instituted and every one of my posts is disliked (I like to use realistic examples, fwiw), does that affect me in some way I'm not aware of?
Just wondering why it matters if it gets "abused".

Our coding actually has 3 different options:

Likes
Dislikes
Thanks

You can see them in personal screens.

And better! When you click the "who liked this post" link, it lists the ones that "Disliked" it. lol

All Jase has to do is click the button.
