What's new

Anybody see the southpark season premiere?

South Park became boring a decade ago. Youre on a similar path.

Disagree, they have gotten much better the last decade. Original stuff was boring and just tried to be loud and offensive. The new stuff is really well written. Every season has hits or misses though nothing has changed in that regard.

Many people in the military are honorable, some are heroes, but many are arseholes and many more are not heroes. Just serving doesn't make one a hero nor necessarily even laudable.
I agree with this. Allot of people are only even in the military because they couldn't get into/afford a good college and they had no better options and knew that the military would house and feed them for a few years and they would receive money when they get out.
Very few join the military because they want to "fight the good fight" or do anything heroic.

Also, jenner is no hero

LOL@ trying to reason with Dutch. Jimmy is in the "One Brow" category of posters who have infinite patience and tolerance.
Ya except jimmy doesn't suck near as bad as one brow

Unless you do 20 years the military doesn't give you any money when you get out. But if you do 20 years you get 50% of your base salary from an average of your three highest paid years of service for the rest of your life, which is a pretty awesome deal.

One of my best friends, and roommate for many many years, was in the marines and was honorably discharged after a very short time (Maybe three years, or less) and he received lots of money from the military for school (he went to itt tech)
He didn't even use the money for school, it mostly went to drugs, alcohol, and partying in general. It was lots of fun

Ahh, school money. Yeah.

They made it even better after I got out (which still applies to me) where they pay for your school and give you housing allowance as if you were active duty. They also started paying up to full tuition for the highest priced state school in the state where you live. It's a good deal.

But I agree with JEJ that just joining the military doesn't mean you're honorable or courageous. I'd say honorable and courageous people are the minority of people in the military. Lot's of scum bags and petty tyrants, tbh.
