What's new

Ricky Rubio starting some **** with Gobert on twitter

Rudy was whining so he deserved the tweet by Rubio. France choked. They missed FG's and FT's and didn't defend well in the 4th. Rudy and his teammates should be looking in the mirror - not complaining about the refs. Wasn't like they didn't get ANY FT's. They missed a bunch when it counted. Gasol and Spain stepped up and won the game. They made shots when the pressure was on.

Love ya, Rudy. But man up and grow a pair. Learn to be a good loser when another player has a great game and you don't.
Did you watch the game?

MJ and Phil Jackson were champions and the ultimate competitors. Whenever they lost a game, they'd ALWAYS complain about the officiating, never put the blame on themselves or give credit to their opponents. Rudy is following in the footsteps of the all-time greats...I'm good with it.

Purty sure he has that area covered and then some.

I don't care as long as a player has the courage to show his fury on court too. Trash talking is in this thing's nature.

This is so patently false it's ****ing ridiculous.

The absolute blind love and defense for Gobert on this board is nauseating. I love the kid but let's face it, what Stifle said is pretty much freakin' true. And let's also face this. The kid has shown no improvement from what we've seen in these FIBA games and perhaps has even regressed. We'll see once we start the season but I have a feeling we're going to grow tired of missed free throws, less defensive aggression, and some missed opportunities for rebounds from Rudy this year. He'll still get 11/11/2.5 or something but my gut tells me he'll be fairly disappointing and not the same freakish presence he was last season and will also bring out frustrations for the reasons mentioned.

I hope he proves me wrong and is more like a 13.5/12.3/3.1 guy, hitting 68% from the line but my gut tells me we're gonna feel a little let down.

Despite the game taking place in France. There really did seem to be whistles going in the favor of Spain and Gasol.

The pivotal charge call with 48 seconds to go in regulation on De Colo was awful. The defender was sideways, in-motion and not even close to in proper position.

Thing is, there was shotty officiating all tournament. I'm not one to really get all hung up on specific calls, especially when the officiating has been consistently poor.

IF there was a gripe it's probably what Rudy was saying, and I agree.. There seemingly was different levels of leniency being used to officiate Rudy and Gasol. That 5th foul was awfully tacky to call on Gobert when he's got all ball in his hand.

Personally I think this is just Rudy's rage about Gasol killing France getting the best of him.

In all fairness the refs were favoring France overall. But I like how Gobert reacted. What's wrong with being angry about losing? Rubio shouldn't have stirred the pot. Go Spain but leave the trash talk for when you're on the court.

Overall? France was getting calls but not when it came to Gasol. He was fouling a lot, going over the back, pushing people, once threw Lauvergne to the floor and then made a follow-up put back. They were calling ticky-tacky fouls against Gobert and Lauvergne. Yes, Parker was getting some of those calls too, but ultimately the game hinged on how they called the game for Gasol. Look at how many FTs he got. Ridiculous. I think the way the refs called the game, it gave an unfair advantage to Spain.

Some of your post may be correct...... But I stand by my stance that rudy does not need to grow a pair.
