Illusions are like hopes. . . . faith, belief, etc. in nice stuff mostly about others. Could possibly be better than facts.

Delusions are like notions of power, control, validity. . . bad stuff mostly held dear by would-be government employees or cult leaders.

In the case of actual government employees or political king-pins, we can't really call them delusions because their power is real enough, if not too real. State-run propagandists likewise rise above mere cultists because they have the guns and boots on the ground to enforce compliance.

Did I ever mention that I wish there was less real governance?
