Depends on who gets injured and when and how bad the injuries are.
Let's say Wilson gets injured in game one and is out for the year. And booker missed the year for some mysterious reason that no one knows. Then bookers backup goes down. Then his backup goes down. Then the utes best defensive player on the team goes down for 4 games. And against Michigan in game one you have 3 starters suspended.
What do you think the utes record would be in that scenario? (That is what byu has dealt with btw)
Like bawse dog said. Every team has injuries.
Utes have been blessed with no major injuries to their indespensible players in big games.
I'm really bummed out that you came in here and tried your best to find a way to fit BYU into the conversation. C'mon man, you're better than that!
If you do want to use the BYU analogy, I could just as easily point out that defensively, Utah is pretty much 2 deep across the board in quality starters and in some cases, even 3 deep. That right there is why we're starting to see a bigger gap between the two programs. Yes, Utah is scary thin at QB after Travis. That is a problem that still needs to be solved, but Utah is finally past the point of a couple of key injuries derailing a season.
