Official UofU homer thread

This is EVERY team in the country though.

That's my point. Every team goes through injuries. The good teams win. The good teams have depth. The bad teams don't. But, even then, sometimes a poor team with poor depth gets lucky. Sometimes they even get a Hail Mary or two.

BTW Green, I have never seen such a homeristic prediction be so spot on (so far). So congrats on that. And hopefully you overestimated USC ;)

You even got the Stanford thing right. I'm legit impressed.

Remember the Booker pass in the Oregon game? I even had that, but in a different game (Colorado).

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Lol.

My point is that the utes have not have long lasting injuries to their most important players at the most important part of their season. And that has played a part in their undefeated season.

Pretty much every championship team gets allot of luck along the way. So far the utes have been fortunate to not lose their most important players for lots of games against the toughest part of their schedule.

Same goes for the other undefeated teams.
Season ending injuries to star players (especially qb's) hurt every team no matter how much depth a team has.

It's not enough for you that the utes are undefeated and ranked so high and have a shot at a championship.
You want everyone to believe that they also have endured horrible injuries, played toughest schedule, had to get to the games on foot in the snow uphill the whole way and just fought through so much adversity that it's amazing they are still alive.

#3

Also, how great has Wilson been this year? #15 in college football and #2 in the PAC-12 in QBR.

And that's with the #6 toughest SOS so far. And he sat out vs Fresno St, so he hasn't had a game to pad his stats.

AND his talent is...not good. His best reciever is his RB. The next best? A SR whose been playing at Utah since McBride. I think Scott Mitchell threw passes to Scott. Scott is slow and has no agility.

His next best receiver? A five foot tall, 120lb future missionary.

Can you imagine how good Wilson would be if he had decent recievers?

What a awesome season so far. He deserves it. Kid has been through hell and back and keeps fighting. I've been saying this for years, but he's the best QB in the state, hands down.

Love that he's a Utah Man. He embodies that perfectly.

Props to freshmen:

Covey - wow. I had no faith you'd ever play for us. Wow. So impressed.
The other half of our Utah County future - Hansen. QB of the future. Making plays on special teams and at safety for us. May be our starting safety vs USC.
Repp - beautiful catches.
Smith - from almost dropping out of high school to starting as a freshman. Impressive.

The future is bright folks. We are coming into our own.

That's not your point at all. You are here trying to show that Utah is "lucky" and if BYU was as "lucky" as Utah, they'd be #3 right now.

The simple fact is BYU is lucky with their Hail Mary's.

Every team has injuries. BYU has had them and so has Utah.

Good teams have depth and overcome injuries (Utah). Poor teams don't have depth and don't overcome injuries (BYU).

BYU is a very lucky team. Without luck, they are 3-4 right now.

You are way off (like usual)
My only point is that utah has been fortunate injury wise.
Your own teams fans agree with that statement (since its obvious)

I don't think byu would be a top three team even if they didn't have a single injury. Utah is better than byu regardless of injuries.
Michigan beats byu no matter how healthy they are this year

Speaking of injuries, Whitt said that Patrick may play this weekend. Finally.

Also, Utah started huddling up due to ASU stealing plays. Crazy. Good for ASU. We need to do a better job hiding our play calling.

#wounded cougars lookin for excuses in UofU thread

I'll say otherwise. Ahmad Christian, transfer from Southern Carolina hasn't gotten on the field. Dimick missed two games. Wilson has missed time. Our top WR hasn't played yet. Troy McCorimick was supposed to be our home run guy on offense. We just moved our third string QB to safety and he may start vs USC (Hope Hansen can get back to QB). Our starting TE is done for the year. Domo missed two games due to racism.

We've had 4 starters out for the season so far.
