Here's some of my favorite ish in the past decade. Colin Stetson does circular breathing into his sax for an amazing continuous sound. He's joined on this recent record by his long-time partner Sarah Neufeld. Violinist; able to meet Colin on the orgiastic/athletic terrain that he's more or less perfected at this point. This track is Steve Reich-esq. It sounds like their relationship, to me.

I know Dala has already rated this but I'd like to rate it as well.

I give it 9/10.

One of the unusual and captivating piece of music I've heard in a long time. Very intense as well, a lot of concentration as well as chemistry between the two artists is required. Just a perfect mix of two instruments. Artistic and yet quite accessible too.

hmmm... sort of a little too much of a new-age sound for me, and the incessant percussion in the background sort of overtakes the melody - I like it better when the vocals start though
5.5 / 10

here's one in honor of the season, a classic oldie, but not by the original artist...
Personally, I like this version much better

VOLBEAT - " I ONLY WANNA BE WITH YOU"

8/10 - wowzah!!! A good song in its original version, and this a good interpretation, I love the hard driving rock sound. It'd be fun to hear that one live, in a club.

sticking with theme of "not by the original artist" - here's one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite singer-songwriter, but in another more "hard-charging" version

An oldie but goodie.

Can I rate that a 0? OK, how about 0./10. There was no part of that which was actually good. You must be blinded by nostalgia.

Before anyone gets offended by this one, please realize that Ian Dury was crippled by polio at a young age.

always liked Ian Dury and the Blockheads and their quirky sound
but I'm giving this one
5/10 - less melodic than their other stuff
I think I'd prefer to listen to it as part of a mix of his stuff rather than just by itself as a stand-alone tune

If you want to compare a Smiths song to anything, you compare it to every other song ever written. In that vein, 9.9/10 - only misses the full 10/10 because it's not an actual video.

But this is pretty good, too:
