What's new

The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

So the picks are protected, basically guaranteeing that they will suck.

ESPN reported that the Jazz will get NJ's #1 this year and GS's #1 next year, they didn't mention anything about protection. In the message a couple of posts above, there is still no mention of lottery protection for the Nets' pick and only says that it is likely the GS pick is protected.

Or maybe I sound like Miami fan who did not want to trade Wade, OKC fan who did not want to trade Durant. We didn't even offer DWill an extension! You comparison is ludicrous.

Durant was always clear he wanted to stay with okc.

Feeling stunned.... not sure yet if I like the trade or hate the trade.

I don't think this has been mentioned in this thread yet, but in addition to the draft picks, one report said the Jazz pocket $3 million cash.

Careful Colton. You need to show more emotion or tater will be on your *** sooner than later.

Has any team/city, with the exception of maybe Cleveland (the lebronathon and Cleveland Browns departure) had a more monumental shake up in the span of 2 weeks than the jazz?

Sounds like D-Will is NOT happy with this trade.

All I can say is, Greg and KOC better have been 99% certain that Williams wasn't going to re-sign with Utah. Because if he was planning on signing an extension with us and they still dumped him...wow.

Im sure they were hedging their bets.

That's my take. This could have been a really big stab in the back.

My biggest complaint: Memo isn't on his way out. That should have been a requirement in any Deron trade.

We traded our best player, a real superstar, and did not even dump useless Okur or overpaid AK. What a disaster of a deal.

It's fun to watch Siler and Luhm on Twitter. They worked pretty well as a unit back in the day, but they're coming down very firmly on opposite sides in this situation. I always preferred Siler of the two, but think it's a bit odd that he's coming out so fiercely in the pro-Deron camp when he's not as much of an insider any more. Also, enjoy the fact that he thinks Deron will go for 31 assists when the Nets play Utah again. Good luck, Deron; you're on the Nets.
