What's new

GT: Jazz @ Cavs 11/10/15 5pm MST

Maybe it's Coach Q deflecting, but this quote is fantastic:

Dark Lord Snyder said:
Utah has the fourth-youngest roster in the league, prompting coach Quin Snyder to laugh when he was asked if the Cavaliers provide a measuring stick. "We're too young to even have a measuring stick," he said. "We're still in the phase where you measure yourself against a wall in your house, then mark it down."

As others have said, a great game. Seeing it's a holiday in Europe today, i stayed up to watch the game, well worth it. A few observations :
- Lebron is damn good, one of the most clever running backs in the game. As someone said, we got lebroned and that happens a lot in this league.
- This Cavs team is clever, well coached and experience. They are one of the teams that best played Gobert this year, never letting him know quite when they were attacking the rim or passing it just before. He didn't know what to do a lot of times, must have been frustrating but a valuable experience.
- Favors is just plain solid
- Hayward still looking for that rythm, part of me thinks that the comeback of Burks and better play from Burke has thrown him off a bit, he just doesn't quite know if he should take over, share the ball, wait for it, etc..
- the Bees are doing great, very happy for Burks and also for Burke who will never be a great PG with such atrocious defense but who is doing a good job as a combo guard, which should be his future in the league.
- Finally I hope Gobert's ankle will be ok.
Good post

Agree on Hayward as well.

Plus he recognizes when someone is hot to ride with it. He cares about winning, not his numbers... This will make the Jazz attractive to play for because teammates know they have opportunity to get theirs and it makes it more fun.

In my personal opinion, Hayward cannot stand Richard Jefferson. Especially after he brought up G holding out for more money on the media.... Notice how Hayward pretty much abused him at will.. Again, my thoughts but funny to see. RJ had 1 strip of him that should have been a foul.

Speaking of getting Lebron'd, Hood knows exactly what that feels like. On the bear hug, Hood looked like a 7th grade band geek trying to tackle Derrick Henry. And that's no slight against Hood, LeBron is just a monster.

It's not really a mystery why we lost that game. We got Lebron'd. We can talk about officiating, or our guys underperforming or whatever. Fundamentally, they had Lebron and we didn't.

That's nothing to be ashamed of. Even the Warriors got Lebron'd twice in the finals last year. This probably isn't the last time we get Lebron'd. It's just a thing that's gonna happen sometimes.

This is pretty much it - love him or hate him, more often than not LeBron is just an immovable object.

That and-one with Hood wrapped around him is a perfect representation of how he can impose his will on grown men like no other player in the league.

There was some seriously shoddy officiating in this one. The sequence to end the 1st half was particularly quizzical, that ball certainly appeared to be out of bounds off of Tristan Thompson. Then they get a bail out call and FT's, the way Rudy reacted to the whole thing had me convinced he had the best view of it - I don't think he's that good of an actor either.

To me 'the story of this game' was clearly Lebron scoring 5pts in the first half, and Hayward scoring 4 points in the second half(2 of which were FT's after the Cavs seized control in the 4th)..

There was honestly plenty of moral victories in this one though, who knows how that plays out without Rudy twisting his ankle. Hopefully that 4th quarter 3pt shooting from Hood can carry over to the rest of the road trip.

Burks closed that game out on some boss ****. I particularly enjoyed that pull-up 3 in the closing seconds, that was sweet.

That Raul Neto airball looked like he was playing outside and a wind gust changed the balls direction. That **** was hilarious. His FG % is now under 30% which means teams are going to start letting him shoot, not a good sign. He did react well after that airball, he's got plenty of composure, his shooting is questionable tho, I'm not sure if he looks all that confident shooting...... he looks like he waits to the last second to try and get a pass off, instead of shooting, IDK if thats conducive to shooting a decent percentage given he's not particularly big or athletic by NBA PG standards.

He was still a negative, but he's closer to average (because of his offense) so we can deal with it. Mo Williams had a fantastic night for a reason. Trey Burke really should be playin like Dellavadova. Srsly if he gets less than 3 fouls he isn't doin enough on D. He must be a pest if he is going to succeed in the NBA. We've seen him do that a little this year but tonight he didn't. That being said our Jazz are tuff and can match any style of play thrown at them. Super excited

How many mins was Trey on the court the same time as Williams? How many points did Williams score with Trey defending him? Mo got off to that hot start when Neto was defending him.

That was a broken play/miscommunication with Favors - obviously not the shot they wanted. While I agree Neto's shooting is shoddy and on that one particular play he looked pretty bad; but I wouldn't read too much into that one possession.

well put
repped

Uh, yeah, he actually can. When have you or anybody seen Burks get tired? When has Burks or Snyder or anybody ever said he got tired? Dude doesn't get tired in games.

He hasn't gotten tired since the fifth grade.
