For all the abuse he takes on this board, just making the finalist list is pretty impressive...

How could they leave off Lillard? After Curry, the best offensive PG in the league.

Lillard has already basically stated he doesn't want in and doesn't believe he'd even get picked.

And let's be honest. Gordon Hayward has a zero percent chance of making Team USA in 2016. I will post pictures of me eating a Kyrylo Fesenko basketball card (which I'll have to purchase first) if Hayward makes the team.

Honestly if I was him I'd decline. They strung him along last time and after several people ahead of him dropped out for various reasons they brought in new people and didn't pick him. They just want him for practices.

Dying to see this come true.

Well done. A trophy is in order...

the coaches love Gordon. I think he'll be one of the absolute last cuts, at worst. Gordon is the ultimate end of bench player for the olympics IMO. Can fill every role, play three positions, defend three positions at the FIBA level. Hit threes, run P&R, get hot.

Paul/Westbrook/Kyrie/Curry
Butler/Harden/Iguodala
James/Leonard/George/Hayward
Davis/Griffin/Draymond/Durant
Cousins/Drummond/Aldridge

Nvm on Gordon making it. I forgot how many athletes missed it from injuries last time. He'll only make it if others are injured.

I can get it down to 18. The cuts will likely be Kyrie, George, and Hayward. Can't see them not picking Iggy-- he fits that role that I was alluding to Hayward fitting. Plus, he's the previous Finals MVP. Can hit threes, defend with the best of them. Good leadership, good locker-room player.

But I just realized it's a 12 member team. In that case:

Curry/Paul/Westbrook
Butler/Harden
James/Durant/Kawhi
Davis/Draymond/Carmelo
Drummond

outside chance that Cousins beats Drummond for the spot at the 5.

I would take George over Melo and it's not even close -- Melo is in decline.
