Russell Westbrook: Enes Kanter should win Sixth Man of the Year

Funny thing about it. Kanter wanted out because he was getting less minutes and getting benched. He's goes to the Thunder and gets even less minutes there. He got paid which is nice, but I wonder how he feels about that. He made his situation worse. I'm sure he would have been matched here too.

You said it -- he got paid.

No way Jazz match a max for Kanter.

Assuming that they are a repeat offender $20MM over the luxury tax limit, they would pays $4.75 tax per dollar of salary, so incrementally Kanter would cost them $5.75*16= $92 million per year. That is a worst case, but you get the jist.

Not even sure the Nets would do that.

That's not right. $4.75 is the marginal tax rate -- not the average tax rate -- for a repeat offender $20mm over the limit. A repeat offender exactly $20mm over the LT line would have a tax bill of $65mm. Further, with the LT line jumping by $25-30mm next season, the Thunder may find a way to stay below the tax and avoid the repeater penalty until at least 2017-18, even with Durant and Westbrook signed to max deals.

$70 million dollars for a 6th man who plays one side of the court. HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Booker said it best: "he got his stats".

There is no 'I' in Kanter, but there is a 'P' in Enes.

The name of the award should be changed from "6th Man of the Year" to "Wing Player who Comes off the Bench and shoots a lot of 3's"

A one-way player who gives you 11PPG ain't gonna get it.
