Jazz vs Wolves

Would be great to get Alec back and really start to roll. Jazz have looked pretty good though for the most part since Favors return to the lineup. They need to seriously go on a good run to keep us in the hunt.

More trade discussions with Twolves fans. For the most part they are quite knowledgable fans. Been a pleasure talking to them.

Bummer. Burks and Burkes are literally the two Jazz players I covet the least.

Favors is definitely too good to deal for potential. I agree with you there. I chuckle when fans think he's easily attainable.

Hood is a guy that I would be very interested in. I think his recent stretch will make him close to unmovable for anything we would actually give up.

I don't think I would trade KAT for anyone in the league right now. He along with Wiggins are the guys that are untouchable IMO.

The Favors part is funny as we've seen some crazy bad trade ideas from fans of other teams, but they really love Favors over there.

Yeah, but it shows 20 year old centers being really bad, so Towns would be an extreme outlier being this advance.
The point I was countering is that bigs in general reach peak more slowly -- which the data refutes. I doubt the 19 year sample size is statistically significant and even if it is, not relevant to the trend.

Of course any one great player could be an outlier. Duncan and Malone clearly bucked the trend.

LOL - This **** is wildly flawed, Injuries are the reason for the vociferous drop off in production. I'm really not even gonna get into this further, counter all you want, This is not worth my time.

Of course big's take longer to develop.. It's common sense..

Your common sense versus oodles of information and facts. Hmmmmm.... Tough choice

I guess you think it takes defensive lineman longer to develop than quarterbacks too. Common sense.

I know that PG_AB is not willing to debate further. So I thought I'd share some facts with others with open minds. On average, bigs offense peaks much earlier, defense takes longer. Great example how facts refute conventional wisdom of those who are anchored in their opinions.

Fair enough, I guess we got lucky in Favors then.

Data can be misleading.

Bigs peaking earlier could just mean that the average big man is able to contribute at an early age because they provide rebounding and hustle plays, but never develop further beyond that, so they "peak" early. You might read that as they developed faster, but it might just be they never actually developed and just used their raw size and athletic ability to contribute where a guard wouldn't be able to. Bigs dont always have to develop to be useful where guards are more reliant on skill development to have NBA careers.

Amazing how little respect Booker gets from jazzfanz. Back in the day guys like Booker were guys winning teams tried to hold on to for 5-7 years. I can see him as part of a winning equation but we only care about guys that can put up large numbers of points and look sexy doing it. I hope Booker is a part of this team for a long time.

I was much higher on Booker last season when he was making good decisions, hitting the three and being our energy guy. He's had some good games this season but he's also lost the Jazz a few games with some stupid, mindless decisions. I think there are a few good PFs in this year's draft who would contribute more than Trevor. I don't like his meh defense and the fact he's regressed from last season but I think Booker has value based on his rebounding and scoring as a rotation player and I was wondering what we could realistically get for him.

A backup on an expiring deal. That's worth a 2nd-round pick from a contender who needs depth,

There's 2 ways they can play it. If they go for someone with a bigger salary, he can be used to match salaries. For all his warts, he's still an NBA rotational player.

The other thing they could do is trade him to a team looking to cut their costs for next season and trade him for a comparable veteran player who fits a team need that has more than one year on their contract. Similar to the Devin Harris for Marvin Willisms swap.

I don't think they trade Booker for just a draft pick unless someone offers something unexpected. They don't need any more 2nd round picks TBH.
