Mini Meetup #3

I live close to brewvies and hang out there a fair amount. I vote we do it there. I am also friends with a few of the employees and manager.

Sundays nights are always good for me. I dont have to plan ahead, Saturday nights tend to be busy for me. But if it happens at Brewvies ill be there.

So you are saying you can suck a dick to get a Jazz game on there?

Okay, I emailed their event guy. Let's see what he says.

@Jason, if they are willing to host us, is there a possibility we could prominently advertise that fact and how awesome they are for doing it?

Also, I plan to tell them that if they can show the game on one of their screens it doesn't have to be exclusive. They can sell tickets to anyone interested in watching a Jazz game there. Maybe there could be some cross-promotion indicating that the game has been brought to them by jazzfanz.com?

Charging the public to watch an NBA game would likely be a copyright violation.

I think it's like how people pay for food at a sports bar and they play the game.

Most sports bars are required to negotiate a fee with the copyright holder, although there can be exceptions for small venues with a limited number of screens and a restriction on screen size (under 55" in a public venue IIRC). Negotiations are generally done with the service provider (Directv). Sports bars pay a lot more for their programming than a home view for this reason. If you want more info read this: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/110

Without getting too detailed, showing a Jazz game on a movie theatre screen would be a clear violation. There are numerous lawsuits for violations of this, including the playing of music in public venues without a license.

You must be fun at parties.

Didn't know where to post this so I'm just gonna put it here.
This dude was eating bird seed on my lawn all day until finally I told my dog to get it. He almost caught it before it flew away.

My dad and brothers love to hunt chuckars

I spent many a weekend chasing these guys around Stansbury island when I was a lot younger. Good eating.

do I have to shout it with the O face?

You don't have to, but the O face definitely shows that you are well cultured and will get gain you a large amount of respect. If the o face is not used, ending the last syllable with a grunt seems to work.

Wednesday? Is Thursday a holiday or something?

I currently work Sat/Sun sometimes Fri. I could do Thurs but if I'm gunna hang out I'd rather we were playing HOU than OKC. HOU means more and is much more winnable. I realize that for most people Wed isn't doable or at least would be inconvenient, and that's cool, but I thought I would share my availability.

The games aren't actually watched.. at least not in full focus.
