What's the Status on Burks?

I feel like that happens all the time though.

"He's fine but we are going to take every precaution and hold him out another week."

Not unusual at all.

Yeah, that's not unusual, but change another week to another two months and it starts getting a little unusual.

I don't feel like that happens all the time though.

It's been almost 2 months of precautionary holding him out.

With no real explanation.

They should be able to say why specifically he isn't ready. What they are waiting for. What body part isn't 100%. Something. Anything.

This didn't happen with the Gobert injury. Or the favors one. Or any injury I can ever remember as far as holding a guy out for precautions for almost two months.

If it was a week like you said then no one would care and we wouldn't be having this conversation

Wait are you saying there's something more wrong with him and he is incapable of playing and they are straight up lying?

Or are you saying that he's fine but they are holding him out because the Jazz are playing well? Because that certainly doesn't jive with 'he's been fine for two months'. We've had several stretches of suckage in that time.

The same happened with Favors' injury. He was listed as day to day for how long? A month? Remember the thread about whether Favors had died? Or the more ridiculous ones about how the Jazz are looking to trade him?

I am with Cy about withholding our opinion on a player's readiness. But this organization has been terrible at communicating these issues with the fans.

Great example. And there is the problem I have.
With favors they kept telling up his back was hurting and they were waiting for it to get better. Cool. I knew what was up with that.

What is wrong with Burks again? Oh ya. He might or might not get injured in the future so we are not playing him.

That one doesn't really work for me.

Exactly.
I'm saying no one knows what the hell is going on.

I would like some info. That's what I am saying.

Well then I'm confused about everything. Cy saying 'I don't really get it, but the best I can do is trust trust the doctors.'

Is Cying and contrarian?

What's your stance? "I want to know exactly what's happening"? Well, we all do.

What is this conversation even about?

I thought the conversation was about not simply being cool with the jazz saying Burks surgery went great, he is doing great, he is practicing, he is healed, but he is being held out for months because he might get hurt again someday.

I thought cy and you were saying that you are cool with the jazz explanation of Burks absence.

I want more info. That's what im saying. What is happening right now with Burks (being held out for months but having no injury to explain why) is something that I don't ever recall seeing before.

I don't like it. That's all.

Great read guys.

Quick question: would you rather be mad at the organization on this, or mad at the player?

When the same thing happened with Boozer, he said some stupid stuff and everyone hated him. When this happens with Burks, the organization is the one taking the blame, not the player. I think it is better this way, as now we don't all hate Burks the player. Injuries just take a long time to heal sometimes.

You people are so ****ing annoying. Honestly. I said he sat out for the injury to heal up enough for him to play. I didnt say it healed up completely in two games off. Actually I said essentially what you said "it may lessen... due to activity". Kindly go **** off.

god damn you are sensitive. I said the treatment is not consistent... If burks is healed and has been working on the rest of his body he is probably good enough to go... Just like Hayward is good enough to go.

With medical and all other types of consulting there are varying degrees of aggressiveness if we are holding him out for a slightly greater chance that he gets hurt then we are being overly cautious. I trust that the medical staff knows what they are doing but they also could be covering their own asses and prolonging the return. If it goes any longer you just punt and say no need to bring him back for one or two games. Maybe they are *******... Not a conspiracy theory but they might be in self preservation mode and no they can only be hurt or punished by pushing a guy back too soon.

Maybe the FO learned a lesson from that Boozer episode. Maybe less info is more and it's better to have fans angry at the faceless Jazz organization than at a player.

Maybe right here.
