Deron Williams Missing Game because he is "TIRED"

Are you joking? When I am tired I take a nap. I find it absolutely amazing that a professional athelete would miss a game because he is "tired". I think this just goes to show that the owners need to take the power back from the players. I would love to some sort of corrilation between team wins and pay. Maybe make 50% of the players pay based on contract and the other 50 based on team wins with bonus money for making the playoffs and winning games. I had an idea that would be cool. Give each player on a team a money % number. So #1 player ie Kobe #2 Gasol #3 Odem #4 Artest and then Kobe gets 30 % of the win money. Gasol gets 20% Odem 10% ARtest 8% #5 7% and everyone else gets 4% or something like that. This would give players a reason to want to play in games and win them. I would also deincentivise the super stars from wanting to group up as there egos wouldn't allow them to be the #2 guy on a team. I also feel they should forfiet there win money if they don't play in the game.

He is listed as questionable for Friday with a wrist/hand injury...

f.y.i.

A day after rumors swirled about his availability for Friday’s game here at the 02 Arena against the Raptors, he made it clear that he will indeed be ready to go.

“I’m playing,” he said after the Nets wrapped up their Thursday morning practice at the arena. “I’m definitely playing tomorrow.”

Williams has a bone bruise in his left wrist and the strained tendon in his right wrist. But he said he felt rested a lot better today than he did the day before.

Nice headband.

Yeah, nice jinx.

Let the dude rest, he needs it.

Plus, he's ****ing up our draft pick when he plays. SON OF A BITCH!!!

I say he needs about 4 weeks to rest and recover. 5 weeks just to be sure. This should be obvious.

No, but taking a nap when you are tired, is a pretty human reaction...

Another human reaction is kicking someone in the nuts who doesn't get it.

tired of losing, feel bad for dwill...he didn't want to be traded

They just won by 13 in London. And Deron DID want to be traded, just not to a losing team. Next time he starts yapping about why he signed a 3 year contract, he can do it while watching the playoffs and dreaming of playing for the Lakers. By the time he gets there, they'll be about as good as Utah. Gotta love the ironing.

Played in both games and killed it as far as distribution is concerned. Inn other words, this thread blows.

It is, it was and has been the wrist.

WASHINGTON (AP)—New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams(notes) will miss at least three games because of an injured right wrist.

Nets coach Avery Johnson said the wrist will be re-evaluated after Williams sits out those games.

“It’s something that we know: rest—not surgery—is required,” Johnson said. “We’ll treat him. We’ll rest him.”

Williams missed Sunday’s game at Washington and will not play in Monday’s game with Indiana and Wednesday’s at Cleveland.

Johnson says he doesn’t want to shut down Williams for the rest of the year.

“He’s a guy that likes to play games,” Johnson said.

On Sunday morning, Williams sat in New Jersey’s locker room and said he was disappointed, but didn’t want to rule out playing again this season.

“I’m just getting a little rest and then re-evaluate it,” Williams said. “Maybe a couple of more games. It’s not really set in stone. I’ll just see how it feels.”

He doesn’t want to thinking about calling it a year with 15 games left.

“We’ll see how it feels. Who knows? I hate sitting out,” Williams said.

Williams, who was acquired in a trade with Utah last month, has played in eight games for the Nets. He’s averaging 14.8 points and 13.1 assists. Williams ranks third in the NBA with an average of 10.1 assists.

Johnson said in the short time Williams has played for New Jersey, he’s seen what he can do at the point.

“I’ve seen enough, so I’m not overly disappointed,” Johnson said. “We’ve seen flashes in certain situations.”

Williams originally hurt the wrist earlier this year with the Jazz.

“It’s been a tough two, two-and-a-half months,” Williams said.
