Imo, centralizing more government to the federal level creates both greater government inefficiencies (in a more one-size-fits-all way) and allows for more unchecked unscrupulousness... as opposed to smaller fed/larger local.

I know the flip side arguments, just stating my opinion.
I just don't care any more, though, as I've kind of lost any faith whatsoever, of Americans truly holding elected officials accountable. Hint: it's much more than just voting.

A big first step would be making campaign financing public so the US congress doesn't spend 50% of their hours calling rich ppl asking for donations.

Haha.. good point.
However, the other 50% is calls to people readily willing to be accepting government handouts.. as a career choice.

Not a great recipe for a strong middle class.

Seems to work as a good recipe in every other developed country.

Iceland's PM just resigned.

#PanamaPapers claimed its first victim what, 48 hours after their release?

Well, I'm glad we have some hard data to back up what we all already knew at least. Obviously will become more interesting to me personally when the US list comes out (I've heard within the next couple of weeks). Not sure what to expect from that, but should be interesting.

Have heard that it looks like the Pirate Party could be the ones who move into power in Iceland, that'd be their first big move anywhere I think.

Fascinating stuff. Chinese government has blacked out the topic, essentially making all news references to Panama papers illegal.

I really want some of these folks to face prison sentences. Resigning is not punishment.

Can't tell if you are joking or not.

If not, do you really think that 50% of the country lives on gov handouts as a career choice, and those people essentially vote as a bloc?
