I really don't miss Deron that much...

I am pretty shocked by this, honestly, but it is the truth. I haven't thought to myself while watching any Jazz games since the trade, "I really wish we had Deron right now". Maybe because it has been fun to watch Jefferson become our go to guy down the stretch of games and see how he handles it. He has done pretty damn well, I think.

I definitely don't miss the Deron of the past couple months. The one who turned the ball over down the stretch, couldn't buy a three, and would put his head down and whine to the refs instead of rallying the guys together down the stretch. We could definitely use the Deron of the last few seasons and the playoffs though.

I do like Harris though. I've said for years that Williams sucks at running the break. Harris is much better at that. He's just quick as hell in general.

Yup. The whole team was in a funk. I miss Deron. I dont miss the injured Deron.

You haven't watched a recent game yet you have had fun watching Jefferson become the go to guy down the stretch?

Not to mention how much fun AK seems to be having now that Deron is gone.

It is very interesting how certain players seem to be more into the games and player with more confidence since Deron left (AK, AJ, even Sap looks more relaxed out there). I brought it up in another thread, but I think it is possible Deron was just a black hole, emotionally and with the ball.

Correlation or causation?

Devin used to annoy the hell out of me when he played with the Mavericks, but I think it was mainly because I watched him when they were playing the Jazz. That trade was flat out robbery by us now that I have seen a fair amount of him and Favors' potential a bit more. If we hit on one of those draft picks, KOC should be arrested for murder.

I miss having Deron at the end of games. I always felt confident he would get us a good shot every time down the floor. Now I just never know what is going to happen down the stretch. Hopefully we can learn to execute with the new guys.

I can't imagine that the general reaction or my reaction specifically would be good if Deron got shipped and Sloan was still around, but I miss Sloan more. And I don't miss Deron much until I see him rack up crazy assists to players that can hit a shot or finish. It really shows how badly this team needs to bring in players, so in that respect at least, this trade was needed.

Yeah, it does seem like the offense flows a lot more freely than it did with Deron. On the other hand, it can get sloppy at times.

I do hope AK comes back at a reasonable price. I want to see what the team, and Corbin, can do with a full training camp.

you all are acting like kirilenko is some incredible basketball player and blaming his supposed emergence on the fact that deron is gone. um number kirilenko is just an average player and number 2 it has nothing to do with deron leaving. it's his contract year and the guy wants to play his best which is average at best, calm down lol. he's not gonna take this team anywhere lol

I don't miss Deron just like I don't miss Boozer.

The team as it was last year was as good as it's going to get and it was time to blow it up.

Also, right now, Deron sucks as a team leader. By the time he figures it out he would have been out of Utah anyway - so it made plenty sense to me to trade him. The fact that we got back a solid PG, a young big with unbelievable potential and what will most likely amount to a top 6 or 7 pick makes the deal nothing short of highway robbery.

AK is far above average, there are not 10 better small forwards than him I can name at least. He has always benefited from more touches and gets disinterested being the 4th and 5th option, which is what he was in the Deron/Boozer era. His offensive numbers are 16.3 points at 59% over the last 6 games. Talk about efficiency! He has not done that since his all star year in 2004. Obviously his block/steal numbers will not match 2004 due to his age, but AK should be resigned if he agrees to a reasonable contract (5-7 mill/year)
