Exum isn't doing SLI call ******** on the "he needs all the playing time he can get" argument. He needs to keep his *** off the court of international play, continue to rehab the knee, and give his focus and dedication to the team that's actually paying him to play basketball.
If Exum is still rusty after SLC and Vegas summer leagues, as well as training camp, I'm more than fine letting him find his sea legs during the first quarter of an 82 game season. Not too happy the Jazz signed off on this.
DL isn't his dad and Exum can make his own choices. Its not in FO best interest to upset players.I don't think Exum gets that much of his rust shaken off playing in a few international games.
DL needs to make the unpopular decision of telling him "NO". He's a Utah Jazz asset and doesn't need to be serving other interests at this point.

Never said he was his dad. He is however his boss, and it wouldn't exactly be groundbreaking for a GM/Orginization to discourage a player from playing for their international team.
I noticed that Ingles and Brock Motum are on the Australian roster. Here is another name that might spark some Jazz interest at least for the Summer League.

It would be exceedingly painful as a Jazz fan if he were to get hurt and miss all or most of another season as a result of this, but if he is medically cleared I think it really is the best decision for him to play. It would be nice if the Jazz were allowed to have some input into how he's used. I hope that at the very least they have a staff member on site to monitor the situation.
