Rumor: Favors and Hayward for D'angello Russell and the #2 pick?

Would you trade Hayward and Favors for Russell and Ingram/Simmons?

I'm ok with this as long as the Jazz do something in free agency. We need a starting level wing (no, Hood isn't good enough), we need a backup big and I wouldn't hate a starting PG.

Let's ease Exum into this. Let's guarantee the playoffs (and a starting level PG and wing would all but do that).

If we aren't going to spend money anyways, then we are just Al Jeffersoning the season (i.e., screwing fans by staying close to playoff contention but not making it).

Screw the Millers. If they don't spend in free agency, I'd be ok with them selling the team because they will have shown they aren't interested in winning.

Contradiction my man. If they do the trade that will put us 3 years at least from the playoffs. So you can't have it both ways. If it's playoffs you wine about than your best chance is to keep this group of players to reach that goal. If you do that trade then it sets us back and we won't even get close for at least 3 years or longer.

I'm okay with any trade as long as I know the organizations plans. If you blow up this team then you better have some future proof goals. The issue here is players wanting to stay. Favs and G seem to like it here. I hate to give them up for someone who is going to bail the first chance they get. But if it makes the team better. Than do it.

Not a contradiction at all. I'd take a shot at a superstar over playoffs this year. See the forest...

The Jazz don't have the balls to try for a title, so they will feed us some line about making the playoffs, youth growing together, Dante being our FA addition, blah, blah, blah.

If you are Utah, you have two good options: add a starting PG, a starting wing and backup big and push for the playoffs and hope Dante is an all star in three years.

2: trade Hayward and Favors for top picks (i.e., LA's pick and Russell or get Brooklyn's pick next year). Then actually tank, and have 1-2 top 3 picks next year [1 (your pick) and Russel if LA, Brooklyn and your pick if w/Boston] and actually build a contender.

But Utah won't do either. They will save money, talk about assets and growth, and cake baking erotica will fill this board up. Oh, and the Millers will continue to add to the over 1 Billion dollars in profits they have accumulated off the Jazz.

If the Jazz miss the playoffs again, Hayward will decline his option and leave.

Not that it matters, but if the Jazz could get #2 + Russell for Hayward and Favors, I'd do it.

bizarre to think that the Jazz will miss the playoffs again next season

Hayward and Hood are both starting level wings. Easily. Now I am open to bringing in another wing and letting them compete but Utah has two excellent wings already.

2017 is gonna be a dope year. I'm predicting a run into the 2nd round. I'll crying Jordan myself at the end of the season if we don't get to the 2nd round. There's my #hottake

As long as we get rid of Burke.

I agree with this

Top six Jazz players missed 180 games. So your theory is that if the Blazers top 6 had missed 180 games they would still have made the playoffs, just by having a positive attitude?

No one here BUT ME gave the Blazers any chance of earning a playoff spot with the roster they had and they went out and got it done. So what will the excuse be next year if Jazz don't make playoffs and was injury free most of the year?

Pencil in these teams from the get go in the West
GSW
OKC- Even without Durant they are a playoff team with Russ
Spurs
Clippers
Grizzlies- Hey they had a lot of people injured this year and still made it
Portland

That leaves 2 spots open with these teams fighting for the last 2
Dallas
Houston
Utah
Denver- Rising team
Pelicans- Davis is fully capable of having a monster season and leading them into playoffs
Timberwolves- They got the star pieces

So that's 6 teams fighting for 2 spots. Can you make a case even whith a healthy roster that the Jazz are 2 of the 6 out of this group? To me in order id put Dallas, Houston, Timberwolves,Denver, Utah, Pelicans
You never answered the question

For me, I say have it one more go with Hayward, Favors, Gobert, Exum, Burks, Hood, Lyles lineup along with additional help from free agency without any setback injuries and fully healthy season. If that doesn't work and not make the playoffs again, I'm game in trading Hayward, Favors or whoever just as long we get good assets back in return.

I think this lineup is going to catapult up in Wins in the Western Conference.Hayward,Favors ,Hood ,Exum,Burks,Lyles are ALL going to be able to put points on the scoreboard.Gobert ,Exum ,Hayward and Favors will keep points off the scoreboard.
The big key is Health....

Ah, the fan that keeps the Millers rich. Or the plant from camp LHM to build enthusiasm for bake the cake, fight for eight campaign.

I think Exum is the key to making the playoffs and going deep...you can't put some sieve on defense in front of Gobert and Favors and expect to play better than .500 ball. You might as well keep Trey Burke as starter at PG if you want offense and mediocre defense.
Exum makes his team mates better and he can become the top defending PG in the NBA and really shut down teams offenses at their point of attack and allow Gobert and Favors to protect the basket easier.
I don't understand this *ease* Exum into the lineup....he will have had 15 months of intense rehab and workouts. He will probably be a better shape than everyone else on the Jazz.

I just want to take a moment to say that I hate hate hate your perspective on how to build a championship team. If the Jazz were to do this they wouldn't stay in Utah long enough to bring Utah a title.

It's like the guy shoving all in every hand hoping that his 6-4 offsuit makes a full house. Yeah, it could eventually happen, but it's not any kind of strategy.

Green, you want the Jazz to roll the dice over and over and over until they get lucky. Admit it, that's your strategy. Just keep taking long shots until eventually it pays off. Because there's no way to build a champion, you just got to keep betting it all and rolling those dice until your numbers come up.

You keep ranting and raving like we're all dumb and we just don't get it. Yeah, I get it. I don't like it. It isn't like what you are suggesting here or what you suggest anywhere ever is a better than 50/50 to get a title for the Jazz, but that's not even how you're looking at it. You just hope that through no real skill, through no meaningful development, through no type of actual planning and FO maneuvering that the Jazz just keep swinging wildly until they land that knockout blow.

Puke

P.S. Sorry everyone for all the cliches
