If Durant Signs With Someone other than OKC

I thought this was about what it would do the thunder. I had visions of them playing lineups of Kanter, Sabonis, Mitch mcgary and Steven Adams, watching while Waiters, olidipo, and Westbrook fought over dominating the ball and Kyle singler played sf.

There is a chance to steal a very good player. Boston would make the most excited. That puts durant in the east and and boston would have to renounce the rights to zizic.

Tyler zeller would be a decent back up to gobert.

Thunder are still borderline playoff team without Durant. But as for the options for him to go, you can scratch Dallas. The last thing I have heard from Durant about Dallas was calling either their head coach or GM "an idiot" for calling Russell Westbrook "just an AllStar, not a Superstar".

And remember kids, if you ever use Jazzfanz App, use it safe.

I wish Utah wasn't such a small market. They should be in this conversation. DL has put together a nearly perfect team for a guy like KD to thrive. An up-and-coming coach, a young defensive anchor, two guys who have 6th man of the year potential, two fringe All Star players who can play both ends of the court and now, two long PGs that can play defense and distribute. Also consider potential upside and development of guys like Gobert, Exum, Lyles and Hood.

They can sign him outright without sacrificing any assets, and could probably move Burks, Burke and Pleiss to free up about $15 million to sign a guy like Pau Gasol if they wanted to.

Gobert, Favors, Gasol, Lyles, Durant, Hayward, Hood, Hill and Exum. That team becomes an instant contender. Too damn bad that they didn't push a little harder to make the playoffs this past year. One good playoff series can change outside perceptions about a team. If the Lakers or Knicks had this roster, the media would be fawning over them as a top free agent destination.

I'm thinking of someone other than OKC wins the KD sweepstakes, they wakeup and say man we have got to lose a bunch of salaries quick, that's where some of our assets could pay off like Trey, Chris Johnson, Mack, Withey, even Pleiss for a really good player or two. Then Hayward has his depth.

Good post. Durant type guy is all we are missing to have a real shot at a title. Of course there are probably quite a few other teams that could say that too.

Too bad it's almost a certainty that we have no chance at him.
The jazz have to find their star in the draft. Gotta hit homeruns with draft picks. DL has done well in drafts so far but most likely (there is a chance one of our guys will be a star) just hasn't snagged that star yet.

I got the intent of the thread. . . it just pisses me off that teams like the Knicks, Lakers, Heat and Celtics are viewed as better options than the Jazz because of their market and history. The Clippers, Warriors and Spurs are all better options than the Jazz talent/coaching wise. . . but I think it's closer than people realize. If he goes elsewhere, I'm happy to poach a player, but I'd rather skip the middleman and just get the star instead.

It not because of small market, Look at OKC and Spurs. It is about where the small market is at.. Also OKC roster with Durant is better then the one with Durant on the Jazz. So why woyuld he leave OKC for a team that isn't as good?

They are viewed that way because of the market and the history and how one guy like if KD went to the Lakers would make LA a real popular destination again. Same for knicks and Boston...
Durant is a big time Christian, Doubt he would ever go to the Mormon capital of the world. So all of you are just wasting your time even talking about it..
