They have a lot of versatility with that line up. They actually have a decent team except at the pg spot.

A decent team? That team blows. Collison isn't starter material. WCS pretty much blows. Gay is a perennial loser. Burks is a fringe starter. That's a 20-25 win team.

Talent wins titles. Not a bunch of role players with great chemistry. At some point the Jazz need to quit hoping Gobert and Favors and Hood, etc become stars and use those assets to get stars.

The only stars Utah will have access to will be stars with warts. But the simple reality is Cousins is a much, much, much, much better player than Gobert. And while Gobert will most likely be overpaid for most of his career, if you can tap into Cousins attitude, Cousins will be underpaid for most of his career.

Would you rather overpay for a player that is amazing on one side of the court and hopeless on the other or underpay a player that is quite possibly top 5 on one side of the court and top 10 on the other?

You severely undervalue Gobert. He's an elite defender. If he's healthy and the team is good, he will be a perennial defensive player of the year candidate. How can a player like that be overpaid?

Chemistry matters in basketball. Cousins has a very real possibility of destroying the chemistry of any team he's on. I don't want him. Not at all. Run pick and roll with Exum and Cousins or have Exum do the entry pass into the post with Cousins. Then you have Hayward, Hood and Lyles spread out on the three point line. With Johnson, Hill coming off the bench.
