Rumor: Jazz and DeMarcus Cousins

Ok let's put the weiners back in the pants and back on the subject of Cousins.
There is no doubt he is a top talent. There is a good chance he will be the starting Center on the USA Oylmpic team. That has to say something about his skills and personality.
I have two questions. 1) Would he resign in two years when his contract is up? 2) would we be serious contenders now? I think the answer to both questions is no. There is no reason to trade for him if he is going to leave. We would give up Gobert for a two year lease. I could be wrong. He could love Salt Lake. If so, no brainer.
Jazz will not win a championship until they get a superstar. Cousins could be a superstar. The only thing stopping him is himself.

Detroit took a chance on Rasheed and it turned out pretty. This board loves to pretend that we are trying to be that Detroit team. In order for us to get a player good enough to win a title we either have to go full 76ers and lose for the next 5 years or take a chance on a questionable guy ala Detroit.

I think the answer to the 2nd question might be yes.
If that's the case, then I think the answer to the first question is yes.

I think if sactown is looking to trade him then the jazz should be trying to acquire him.

The way I look at it: If two of the most distracting, immature, head cases in NBA history (Dennis Rodman & Rasheed Wallace) could play major roles in helping their teams win championships...why can't Cousins do the same for us? Rodman was out gambling/drinking in Vegas the night before an NBA Finals game, banging Madonna and Carmen Electra, and galavanting in women's wedding dresses...Rasheed Wallace holds the NBA record for most technical fouls in a single season (TWICE!). These two guys make Cousins look like a saint...
