Jazz Received 3 Million in Pick Swap

Jesus, Lindsey is a genius.

Especially if Bolomboy was his pick at the earlier position and the Jazz had an accurate "market" draft order, so that they believed he would still be there later. In which case it is pure arbitrage: something for nothing. And that something is $3MM.

No periods in someone's title or name.
I was commenting on your run on sentences and the concept that the lack of periods might be because you knew the person you were addressing your response to already had too many periods of a different kind or something like that not making any reference to your username or anyone else's just the idea that you were avoiding periods out of gentlemanlyness which i realize is not actually the case oh well never mind my joke doesn't actually work too well and I wish you wouldn't have responded to ncolorado anyway even though i found your response very funny so if nothing else thanks for the chuckle goodbye

The long run on sentence was a joke on purpose as a title for him in his format. I don't mind replying to him with a real question and/or calling him out since he never responds to those. Your right, egging on the trolls is never a good idea, but it's worth a laugh now and then.

Seriously, why do people even read ncolorado's posts, let alone reply? Why even talk about him, either, unless to discuss this exact point?

I wonder what a 1st round pick would go for if the NBA removed the price limits and let the teams negotiate in an open market.

I find this hard to believe. Has it been verified?

Seems like rumors, Larson is sharing

Tibor Pleiss: Jazz expected to cut Tibor Pleiss?

Tibor Pleiss - C - UTA - Aug. 21 - 10:07 am et

According to Andy Larsen of KSL.com, the Jazz have been disappointed with Tibor Pleiss' performance in both games and practices.
While Pleiss is on the books for $3 million next season, Larsen said that his chances of making the 15-man roster took a hit when the Jazz signed rookie Joel Bolomboy this week. Larsen also adds that Jeff Withey likely has an edge over Pleiss right now, so it sounds like he's probably going to be waived along with Chris Johnson. Aug. 21 - 10:07 am et

Right now the roster is:

Gobert/Withey/Pleiss/Bolomboy
Favors/Diaw/Lyles
Hayward/JJ/Ingles
Johnson/Burks/Hood
Hill/Exum/Mack/Neto

(no its not a depth chart, just a general listing of people under contract)

That is 17 people, 2 (maybe 3) need to go. I'd say that Pleiss and Johnson are the most likely. I'd say Neto might get cut as well.

To much money how?

To much money for the total roster?

To much to cut Pleiss?

To much for Bolomboy?
I was quoting the OP, namely getting $3 million for swapping pick 32 with pick 45. I don't believe it without confirmation.

Uhh, did you not see the tweet I posted? It's been reported. It's a fact.

Brooklyn has a ton of money and they traded up so they could get a local player.

And it was like 42 for 55, or something like that. We didnt have the 32nd pick.

I don't think you cut Neto. He has some value. Enough to get an asset of some sort or to salary dump Pleiss.

Just because something is reported doesn't make it a fact. That's why I was asking if there was any confirmation. I have no idea who that Twitter source is, how reliable they are, where they got that info, etc.

So...any confirmation?

The source is in the tweet. Look at it yourself. It has been retweeted by jazz beat writers.

Maybe it's because I'm using the app, but I don't see a source link at all. And when I tried a google search on the text you posted it took me to this thread. And when I tried looking through bballinsiders' Twitter feed I couldn't find it. Granted I'm bad at Twitter.

So what I'm seeing is something that may or may not have been tweeted out by someone called bballinsiders, and even if so hasn't been confirmed by anyone (I assume).

Any more details you can give would be appreciated.

There aren't more details though. The Jazz swapped picks and got 3 million.
