What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

The Witch

Wow. This truly is a Masterpiece.

- Cinematography: 10/10.

- Sound/music: 10/10.

- Acting: 10/10

- Story/screenplay: 10/10

It's probably not going to be everyone's cup of tea though and if I had to describe it, it would be a cross between 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'The White Ribbon'. Nonetheless, this is a SOLID first effort from a first time director. The attention to detail is simply amazing. I would imagine it's probably going to offend too many religious people due to its themes though... But if you are open minded, and enjoy to view a thought provoking piece of art (which I do, obviously), then this is a real gem.

Solid indie movie with great cinematography, not that great of a movie.

Informative and well told... but it's kinda like sitting through a history lesson/documentary, rather than a Motion Picture type experience. I'm sitting here scratching my head as to how it won the Oscars for Best Picture over The Revenant....

The Wailing

A great thriller/horror from a master director who directed one of my most favourite movies of all the "The Chaser". Again, might not be to everyone's cup of tea due to its theme and subject matter, but you can't deny the beautiful visual aesthetic and it's really just so fascinating. Lots of humor in this too... kinda amazing how he was able to blend humor into all of this.

100% on RT

Finally got around to seeing this. Really fun movie. Casting two guys who aren't known for their comedy worked out pretty well. Gosling's slapstick comedy is surprisingly on point and Crowe is perfect for his aged tough guy role. Good chemistry between the two. Unfortunately the story of the movie I thought wasn't very well thought out/polished. Didn't get much from the back stories, the moral component about whether Crowe's character should be killing people I thought was a odd choice. It was cool to see Basinger and Crowe back in a movie again since the fantastic LA Confidential, although I felt her character was the weakest one of the film. With a dumb story I was taken out of it a bit. Shame in a otherwise fun film.

I watched Kubo and the Two Strings. It was a good movie and I enjoyed it.

There were a few spots where the script got a bit too cliche, the humor a bit too stupid, and the story a bit too uninspiring (even nonsensical), but overall it was really good. Some parts of the movie were exceptional in concept and originality, which is both rare and refreshing. I'd probably give it a four out of five. I could see some people really hating it tho, as many aspects of the story could turn a lot of people off and cause them to overlook anything that the film did well.

Ive only seen rave reviews for it.

Not surprised. It's a really good movie. It's a 4 out of 5 from me (don't do any half-stars or anything, and five stars has gotta be on par with some Akira Kurosawa **** or smth like that). The flaws are pretty small and may be less important to other reviewers than they are to me.

Got convinced to see Secret Life of Pets tonight.

Terrible, boring movie. Worst cartoon movie I have seen in forever
