What's new

Training camp is around the corner, who's the surprise .......

I think Exum and Hayward will have improved most noticeably as I suspect they are the most ambitious players on the team. Lyles is up there too, but I don't think he'll ever be much of a defender.

reading this just makes me ****ing excited.

that doesn't come under the category of surprised dude !!! Everyone's excited !

My tip is that Joe Ingles' particular skill set that complements the better players around him sees him gain regular rotation minutes and be a more effective and valuable bench player than Burks

Predictions:

Hayward averages 18 P /6 Ast/ 4 Rebound: Efficiency skyrockets as defense is forced to adjust to open 3P shooters. AllStar.

Joe Johnson starts at the 3 (maybe not initially), Gordon at 2.

Rodney develops as second team playmaker, wins 6th man of the year award.

Jazz focus on late season health/ energy -- rest players on back-to-backs.

Rudy gets his fire back, fueled by winning culture, first team defense, runner-up DPOY.

We have a crazy number of lineups so that statisticians have no statistically significant lineup data.

We trade Alec and Shelvin.

if Hayward has made similar improvements to his body as he did two years ago, wow. He will be very good and much improved.

What I expect from the players this season.

Hill - Great fit alongside Hayward. Less so otherwise. Doesn't really take much pressure off Hayward, but the floor spacing will be nice. About what you'd expect but maybe a bit less exciting than you might think.

Exum - Flashes. But, nothing consistent enough to really get excited about. Will have many defenders and detractors.

Hood - Won't be any better than last year. He all ready played like a 10 year vet, there isn't much for him to improve. I think he is waht he is, and that's not bad at all.

Burks - I'm excited to get him back. But, he also is what he is.

Hayward - Another guy who will stay steady. And again, that ain't a bad thing.

Joe Johnson - I think he will be quite good if we keep his minutes down, maybe rest him on b2bs.

Jingles - is what he is.

Favors - I expect him to be a little more aggressive this year. So a little bump for him.

Lyles - I'm hoping he improves his defense. Some work in the weight room will really help him out.

Gobert - We will see. I'm hoping he keeps working on that FT%. Guy seems like he will. I'm hoping for minor gains.

Diaw - If he brings anything to the table I'll be thrilled. Right now I don't expect much out of him.

Withey - if he gets minutes that probably means someone is injured. But, he's definitely a nice injury reserve.

Mack - Such a luxury having a 3rd string PG that can actually play. Trade bait.

Neto - Will be much loved compared to his on floor production. Everyone loves that 3rd string QB.

Bolomboy - Will be fun to root for in garbage time. Gonna have some fans.

The drought ends tomorrow! Media day isn't much... but it's jazz news. Training camp isn't much, but it all marks the end of the summer break for me.

Dante is looking pretty damn built .....Jazz are going to take the league on and jump out there quickly IF they stay healthy.....The hype is REAL !

I think Hood is the biggest key. If he can play consistent and have some big games (like the Lakers game) his play will make it much easier for his teammates on the floor to shine as well.
