Utah Jazz VS Portland Blazers -- Tue. Oct. 25th @8pm MDT

Dame is crazy though. Those layups over Gobert looked easy for him... no idea how he is able to do that... CJ got him once but Gobert forced CJ into some misses... didn't seem to phase Dame at all.

I'm pretty sure Lillard ties a silverback gorilla to the stanchion before he practices layups.

If I'm the Blazer I'd be scared... they have all that money tied up to back up players and they barley eek out a win against our depleted team!!!

This is why they are a bad matchup for us though. We ran them off the three point line pretty well... we force teams to take the long twos and mid range shots... both those guys get and make shots. It's really tough to cover especially if they are getting the touch fouls.

I feel like a lot of that was the absence of Favors though. Gobert just cant switch out onto Lillard at all. Favors at least makes it a little harder on Lillard.

to me ,Jazz giving up 113 points is the biggest thing I saw ....earlier today a guy here said any lineup with Gobert in it was a defensive team .I said baloney if he has 2 guard 3 guys on the frontline.
I wonder how GHill will do guarding a bigger DRussell at PG for the Lakers

He'll be fine, not as quick as Dame or as good of a shooter as CJ or Dame. Then if he gets by Hill someone comes to help and who does DRuss pass to who will hurt us like Portland did?

So are you not playing Gobert then? They will just bring Goberts guy to set the screen. I think favors helps a bit but mostly because he's good and diaw sucked. I think they present a matchup problem that is not easily solved. We can bring the bigger wings and beast them though.

I like Russell but I think he is not even close to what the Portland guys are... Hill likely wins that matchup... may not score as many pints but definitely does more to help his team win.

I think we are better than Portland when healthy. They are 100%... we are missing two of our three best players and another rotation player.

Both teams had outlier situations tonight but I feel good where we are.

I haven't read the reactions here, but the Jazz just went toe to toe against the Blazers on the road missing their 2 best all around players. Portland shot 68 % from the 3 point line (many of the shots contested), and Jazz were still in it until the last minute. Jazz really missed Favors tonight. Diaw was worthless on both ends of the floor, while Favors is one of the better PF defenders in the league. Hill was impressive (although needs to hit the open 3's a little better) and Hood and Johnson were awesome. If Jazz can be relatively healthy, they are a very good team. While the loss kinda stinks, it was also encouraging at the same time. I'm not as worried about Hayward missing a few weeks if Johnson can keep this up, but we need Favors. Diaw shouldn't play more than 5-10 minutes, and it should be at C backing up Gobert.
