Do you support these protests against Trump?

I never said it wasn't. I support the protests. Read the thread. Voted for it and said so a couple times. I even support the loud passion of it.

But if you feel me disagreeing on the choice of 1 word used to describe the protests is me trying to control them than that's your problem. One I'm not really interested in helping you sort out. I'm not even saying they should stop all their tactics.

This convo is done as far as I'm concerned.

I don't understand. So you think the protests are NOT peaceful, but you still support them? You're much more radical than I thought! Kudos.

You thinks it's peaceful? Great. I don't and I'm glad it's not.

I'm surprised. Semantics aside, would you still support them if they were ACTUALLY violent? I'm trying to understand your position.

I'll give this a response even though I said I'm done.

Sometimes anger, passion, aggression and confrontational actions are the right approach. You can be these things without being violent IMO.

This is how these protestors legitimately feel, as far as I can tell. Good, get it out there and let people know you're pissed off. It is there right and I fully support them getting that out there. There are some specific tactics I do not like though.

For this? I would stop supporting the protestors if it turned violent. At that point they cross over into violating others rights.

For the record there are some "what if" scenarios where I would even support violence. But they are extreme.

Given that voter suppression is a perfectly valid campaign tactic, it is obviously time to get rid of the electoral college.

Until yesterday, I did not even know this compact existed. My sister told me about it, since she felt she would simply "feel better" about an outcome she detested if only the winner had also won the popular vote. It's a complex issue, since we were originally 13 separate colonies, and the electoral college is all about "states rights" as a result. My own state, RI, had to be brought kicking and screaming into the federal union, and only did so when the other 12 political entities threatened RI with crippling tariffs. I'm a strong enough advocate of my home state such that I'm sure I would back RI over the union if it ever came to it.

Poor losers. My guess is the majority are Sanders supporters and now they have lost twice. This is the generation that the never lost, never kept score and always got a participation trophy. They don't know how to deal with defeat.

Welcome to reality. You lost. It actually happens. Get over it.

I wonder if they would feel any differently if they realized they are acting like Trump if he had lost? Probably not.

Get over it? Like you and your ilk did? Apparently protests are only bad when democrats do it.

How will that stop voter suppression?

It is area specific where suppressing the vote by one or two percentage points nets you the entire state.

Edit: thus why turn out is important in determining who wins. Or why Trump tried invalidating some votes for polls staying open late. I am at work and typing quickly on my phone, but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying.

From what I have read, MoveOn.org has helped fund and organize quite a few of the protests. The protests are not an organic reaction to the election, they are a political organization with a specific agenda stoking the fires of discontent.

stop

These people really feel the way they claim to feel. You don't have to try to understand it(though you probably should) and you don't have to agree with them. You are robbing yourself of an opportunity to understand the world better by dismissing these people. It's your loss.
