Jazz are #1 in the nba

Why do people think we should have won the Hornets game? I dont get the people who act like we threw that game away.

So disappointing with all the length on the Jazz team they are dead last in the NBA in rebounding ....their has to be a balance between not just getting back on defense and going after offensive rebounds ,with their length they should pursue more offensive rebounds

Outside of Gobert and Favors we don't have rebounders. Bolomboy needs minutes -- it's his elite skill.

I heard Locke speculate recently that Snyder has de-emphasized OREBs in favor of getting back on defense. Popovich does this as well.

Bolomboy needs to be with the Stars, IMO. He's too raw to get meaningful minutes right now, especially with the emphasis more on winning games now than giving rookies developmental minutes.

We had to be close to the top last year... we got an EFFING dynasty going guys.

Seriously though... I'm not a doctor or trainer but at some point the proof is in the pudding. They can't help when guys blow up their knees but the botched Burks stuff... and then the favors stuff. I'd love to see what the actual issue is with favors so that I could judge fairly but from what I can see I'm less than impressed.

Whatever the Phoenix guys get per year double it and bring them over.

Favors out for the bulls game... I'm going to assume he's out a year or two... will help me cope with the injuries.

And Hill is Questionable, partial participant in practice today. Hood should be good to go, practiced fully today.

Jazz started practice at 10 AM and as of 12:45 they were still going at it.

I'm not saying this from the perspective of developing Bolomboy. I'm saying it from the perspective of strategy. When surrounded by multiple players with good offense, I don't believe he hurts us offensively at all. Defensively and in transition he's got what we need physically without giving up speed that we'd lose with Withey or Diaw. His rebounding efficiency is what tips the scales for making him a net positive relative to other players in a number of situations.

To;dr San Antonio has had a reputation of utilizing a player's strengths while hiding a lot of their deficiencies. Our current team is structured such that Bolomboy really is that guy where I feel it'd be most prominent.

You do have to admit the schedule has sucked rocks. "Hey you just finished your game? Get on the plane tonight and get to New York for your 5 road games in 7 days. And then we will give you a day off before you have to play again!" The fact we are going to have 3 and 4 day layoffs later in the schedule kind of pisses me off. That type of schedule can get people injured.

Yeah if you don't adjust for pace. Our defensive rebounding rate is 2nd best in the NBA. Our offensive rebounding rate is 26th, but I think that is by design as Quin wants to eliminate fast-break opportunities for the other team by having everybody get back ASAP instead of seeking out offensive rebounds.

The offensive rebound thing has been one of the biggest changes in today's NBA that goes much more unnoticed than the amount of 3-pointers getting put up. I believe last year, league-wide offensive rebound % was the lowest it has ever been. Our Defensive rebounding % right now is above 80% which would be the best ever. This is obviously due to the changing NBA with bigs farther from the basket more often but also many teams will prioritize getting back over offensive rebounding. It's a legitimate strategy many coaches have gone to. I do think you can argue with a Favors/Gobert lineup, you should crash those boards whenever you can to take advantage of teams possibly playing small though.
