Well yeah but the appeal was not only to Rock's typical comedic audience. Chapelle has not played the race card for black audiences IMO but Rock has thrived on it. This skit was appeal to whites not blacks an Chapelle killed it. He was not putting down he was rolling his eyes an relating to white people on taxes an wealth an stuff. Subtle comedy.

The Chapelle Show played all of those cards all the time. He is very even handed. Also a comedic genius IMO.

Nah mate it is different. Chris Rock always had a hate filled tone in his comedy. Chapelle is different. I ain't saying he does not play the race card but it is different.

Chris Rock helped pave the way for that difference.

I like that we can say white people were messed up racists an finally joke with those that no longer grew up in racist America.
