What's new

Butler, Hayward, and shelvin Mack

Last year after hayward was drafted all i heard for his argument was he lead a team to a final 4. I came on here and said he wasnt the leader or the 2nd guy even , he was 3rd option and i was bashed as being an idiot who knows nothing boutbball. A year later maybe some of you will own up and give me an apology where its due. MAck is a player the jazz should be looking at and i said it last year. Hayward was only 3rd option on the butler team. Mack was 1 and howard was 2.My props are due here. If you dont believe me drag up the threads from a year ago.

And yet Hayward was Horizon League Player of the Year and MVP of the West Region. How could those voters be so stupid?

THt doesnt prove he was a leader. EVeryone knbew mack and howard was the heart and soul of team but utah wants a great white hope to cling on to

You were not right about who was the leader. Butler plays team ball and that is why they were successful. Hayward, Howard and Mack seemed like tri captains to me but Howard was not as good a player as he is this year. I don't know if Mack is a pro prospect but he reminds me of a quickier Wes Matthews. I would love to have him on the Jazz. I recall reading an article about how well Mack played against the USA World Championship team. You haven't proven anything except for posting a conclusion filled with your own "racial" bias. Your post is pure nonsense.

The fact that Butler is back in the final four has to do with the coach, the system they play, player improvement, the additon of new players and the fact the kids play as a team. Instead of bringing the race card into the discussion how about just enjoy the fact that the Butler story is a wonderful sports story.

I agree with your argument Hayward didn't lead them, but neither did Mack. Butler plays the ultimate brand of team ball. The Jazz took Hayward for skills that can translate in the NBA. Jump shooting, size, and playing without the ball. Mack has no advantages on any of those and that's why he isn't even predicted to go first round.
