What's new

Butler, Hayward, and shelvin Mack

Last year after hayward was drafted all i heard for his argument was he lead a team to a final 4. I came on here and said he wasnt the leader or the 2nd guy even , he was 3rd option and i was bashed as being an idiot who knows nothing boutbball. A year later maybe some of you will own up and give me an apology where its due. MAck is a player the jazz should be looking at and i said it last year. Hayward was only 3rd option on the butler team. Mack was 1 and howard was 2.My props are due here. If you dont believe me drag up the threads from a year ago.

And yet Hayward was Horizon League Player of the Year and MVP of the West Region. How could those voters be so stupid?

THt doesnt prove he was a leader. EVeryone knbew mack and howard was the heart and soul of team but utah wants a great white hope to cling on to

You were not right about who was the leader. Butler plays team ball and that is why they were successful. Hayward, Howard and Mack seemed like tri captains to me but Howard was not as good a player as he is this year. I don't know if Mack is a pro prospect but he reminds me of a quickier Wes Matthews. I would love to have him on the Jazz. I recall reading an article about how well Mack played against the USA World Championship team. You haven't proven anything except for posting a conclusion filled with your own "racial" bias. Your post is pure nonsense.

The fact that Butler is back in the final four has to do with the coach, the system they play, player improvement, the additon of new players and the fact the kids play as a team. Instead of bringing the race card into the discussion how about just enjoy the fact that the Butler story is a wonderful sports story.

I agree with your argument Hayward didn't lead them, but neither did Mack. Butler plays the ultimate brand of team ball. The Jazz took Hayward for skills that can translate in the NBA. Jump shooting, size, and playing without the ball. Mack has no advantages on any of those and that's why he isn't even predicted to go first round.

NC you win the award for not letting go. And if I follow your logic we have to say that the players who are still at Kentucky are the reason they are in the final four, not the guys who got drafted. I guess the Wizards made the same mistake by drafting Wall.

Every time I read your posts I imagine a drunk hobo, smelling of piss, trying to tell me basketball stuff while asking for spare change.

I was thinking more of an elderly hobo lady who speaks in a high pitched shrill with a slight bravado and a British accent. Kind of like a Clarabelle Cow from Wales.

She's slightly amusing if you read her with the right character in mind.

he reminds me of people I know that didn't do ENOUGH of the lighter, recreational drugs. You know, the kinds that unsettle your ego and almost automatically make you see the world in a different way. Instead, this guy has been plugging along, thinking the whole time that his natural way of looking at things is undeniable.

Since im a dwill fab since college i wont be rooting for jazz no more. Talk about a poorly ran team. Trade a top 2 player at his position for a pf with upside(by the way yall already got 2 pf) and jon amechi as a guard in devin harris. Trade the only good 1st rounder you have selected. Hayward a scrub just like synder, humphries, brewer, kosta, and on and on. If you wanted to trade him fine atleast flirt with some other teams first. Guess now yall can select jimmer this year and probally kyle singular and have your al lwhite team here soon. By the way i hope yll do try to start jimmer and hayward cuz that would be the laughing stock of the nba

Dude.. I thought you were done with the Jazz?

Back to the thread.

What this does show is that TEAMs can win big games. Hayward was a great(still is) defenser and is willing to play as part of a team. Is that so bad. He does the same with the Jazz. He will defer shots at times to Vets. Not a big deal. I would Rather have that than building a brick ranch all the time. He knows his role. Heck, when he was at Butler, teammates said he needed to take more shots.....

Butler & VCU are playing great team ball, led by their defense.

DEFENSE wins Championships in every sport. At times there will be an exception, but I will take the 85 Bears over Kurt Warners Rams any day of the week.

I would like to see the Jazz become known as a stingy defensive team.

Unsure how to get there, but that is my wish.
