A what IF trade idea

Why do people want to rent Ibaka for a half year to take minutes away from Lyles, the guy who looks like he is hitting his stride and is on his way to becoming a deadly weapon for us?

Ibaka is 31-32 years old. Not 27 that's for sure. He can't go up anymore. From freak athlete to Slightly above average athlete at the age of 27???

No thanks to Ibaka. Is rather see Lyles develop. In my opinion, we need another wing scorer. Maybe that is Burks, but I'm losing faith.

Orlando isn't going to dump him for nothing, and we shouldnt be trading any potential assets for a player that will almost certainly go elsewhere, he wants to start and he wants to get paid max money and for this team Ibaka isn't a max guy.
I still can't believe Orlando made that trade

Why not someone like Gay instead. ? Can play multiple, stretch 4 if u want, def wants out of current team as does FO apparently.
Not sure what they'd take for him. Diaw and Neto plus 2nd ?

Welcome mate, get ready to take a bunch of posts with a grain of salt but have fun !

So Orlando gives up Oladipo/Sabonis for Ibaka to trade them to us for something that is acceptable to JFC for a half year rental? Fat chance.

Sunk cost.

They signed him with the belief that they'd get the inside track to re-sign him long term.

If they now believe he will walk for nothing, they would move him for much less than what they gave up, if they are rational.

They may want to save face, however, as it may be less embarrassing to say "we tried to resign him and he went elsewhere" compared to "we gave up Oladipo/ Sabonis in exchange for two second rounders"
