Hill Update

That type of information is actionable. It should be closely guarded until its absolutely necessary to divulge.

I am not suggesting that the Jazz reveal everything but throwing some bones to the local media guys is good PR. Jazz are too reserved and guarded in this aspect IMO.

The Jazz org is catching a bunch of flak on twitter and articles for their lack of info on injuries and timetables for return.

KSL, SLC Dunk, Andy Larson, Jones, Gennessy...

As well they should. They should have regular updates, even if the update is to say that the status is essentially unchanged. And even if it's to say "2-4 weeks estimated" or "player X has to still do such-and-such before he can be cleared to play" or things like that.

You might if you were trying to make money off the team.

You mean like an owner? Nah, I wouldn't.

A quality product sells itself. Injury timelines don't keep you in business, they are courtesies that have a great potential for letting people down.

They also allow for opponents to prepare for your personnel.

I disagree. Not letting your fans know is bad business. I got hosed buying tickets to the Warriors game tomorrow. Now no one is playing. I don't know if it's even worth driving from logan to watch.
The Jazz need new trainers. Maybe ones who don't primarily treat 9 year old girls.

Injuries are a fact of the NBA. Trainers, no matter how good they are, cannot enter the game and prevent them. They also cannot reduce the number of games that these human beings are expected to play.

If you want to take on the issue of over-use and its resultant wear on joints, you must reduce the number of games. Like I said before, a quality product sells itself. Money drives the league, and greed (on the part of owners and players) is the real perpetrator here. There is no actual need for 82 games in a 5 1/2 month span. The league chooses profits over quality.

?

These guys are being pronounced out typically 24 hours before the game. Opposing teams know who's going to play by the time they start preparing for the Jazz.

That's nonsense. All people are asking them to do is exactly what every other team in the NBA does.

Injuries were a factor for GS in the playoffs last year, also. Their meaningless pursuit of 73 wins likely cost them the championship.

No, it did not "likely" cost them the championship, any more than the Bulls' 72 win season cost them the championship. What's likely is that there was nothing in how they played the final part of the regular season that affected them in the Finals. I watched almost every moment of every game and health was not the issue for either team. Saying otherwise is just attempting to revise history to back up an already crappy argument.
