What's new

GT: Goliath @ David Thursday Dec 8, Vivint Smart Home Arena 7:00 PM MT

This. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Rushing guys will only aggravate these injuries and make them worse. Get guys to truly 100% and then play them.

not to nit-pick, but I'm not worried about the organization rushing players. I'm worried about the players rushing themselves for this game. They should be helped by Q or DL pulling a Popovich and sitting them down.

Pulled hamstring
Sprained Toe
Knee + Back
Finger in a splint
Burks

5 of our top 6 players are currently dealing with an injury. The Jazz can't afford for the injuries to be nagging at them all season. The schedule has provided an opportunity to get some extra rest and heal. I hope that the Jazz take advantage.

Did teh Jazz ever report Favors was having back problems? Only injuries Ive heard about this season are the IT Band Syndrome and the bone bruise.

Coddle these guys and u get wimps. Make them develop tough mental makeup, and u have a team that will play through pain and play well as we saw the Jazz do for years.

I get your point but we're not talking about Carlos Boozer here. These are legitimate injuries.

This is about getting healthy, which is way more important than winning a game or playing through pain to develop a "tough mental makeup". These are potentially devastating injuries. What if Rodney seriously aggravates his hamstring? He's gone 4-6 weeks or more. Favors bone contusion gets aggravated because it's not fully healed... another 4-6 weeks or more. Gordon left the court last night because of his finger. You want him out for a couple of weeks? Should we let Hill's toe get re-injured when another few days would make it 100% healed? Now is the time to be sensible, this team has already proven that we can play with anyone when healthy. Now is the time to be prudent.

If they're still injured then it's a no-brainer you sit them. If they're not you play them. You don't sit them because we're gonna lose anyway. That's being a little too clever for your own good imho.
