Dude, I'm not making this up. He can't sign or be traded to Brooklyn for exactly a year after Houston matched the contract. ****ing google it if you dont believe me.
There is nothing to define. Houston infact matched the contract. If they didnt, he would be in Brooklyn. It's kind of like a RFA signed a contract then his team matched it.

Logically speaking, Nets should be able to have him.
I'm sure other teams wanted him. Being a UFA is a lot different than being RFA.
