Jazz at Dubs Official Game Thread -- 8:30PM MT: NBATV, ROOT

Yeah, I think Hayward not playing well may have had a lot to do with Hayward himself. It can't just be other people's fault. If he's the max stud, he should be making everything easier for his teammates, not relying on them to initiate offense.

Skip Bayless take over your account?

Whatever Cy. Get a life, seriously. Everyone can have an opinion, you're not the only one who's always 100% right.

So I can't have an opinion on your opinion?

Sorry I choose a positive outlook on the team and choose to view the glass half full while you just sit there and do hot takes.

Not the aggressive way you respond + name calling. Geez.

It's hard not to when you come with negative outlooks that are focused solely based on a result of a regular season game where we had 3 players out (effectively 4 if you count Hood's limited involvement). I thought you were the positive person, but we all know you're just a snake who trolls.

But you call his thoughts and ideas stupid and vapod and hot takes. How is your opinion not a senseless hot take?

It's pretty clear neither the Jazz nor Hayward are in that #NextLevel yet. I don't think that's a really stupid opinion

That Warrior line-up with Steph, Klay, Iguodala, Durant and Draymond is pretty special. They're great defensively and offensively.

Didn't Hood come out in the 3rd when all the damage had already been done?

It just ****ing disgusts me how Hayward always disappears in games like this. Everytime we play the ultra-elite/championship caliber teams, he ****s his pants. Just when I'm about ready to join the "Hayward is God" club, games like this remind me why a team with Hayward as their best player is nothing more than a team that crumbles in the playoffs when the pressure/stakes are higher.

That game stung and Hayward sucked it up that game. He played some decent defense but that doesnt cover up his bad shooting and his struggles. Hayward is not an elite player that can take games over by himself with any consistency. People need to stop expecting that. What he is is a really good all around player that is a borderline all-star. He needs decent players around him to help him out and alleviate pressure. When Hill, Favors, Hood, Burks are all out and other players are having bad nights it is unlikely Hayward is going to get many good looks or much rhythm.

That said all players have games they "disappear" in. Those games are usually when they get focused more from the other team. Harden, Curry, Durant, MJ all have had bad games, Hayward might have a few more but he is not on their levels offensively.

I think it's impossible to know if they arent at full strength.

Cy's the only one in this thread that's making the effort to provide a competent analysis of the game, you've just been responding with shallow borderline troll comments. The "stop hurting my feelings" card is just further derailing the discussion.

The difference between Hayward and the true top notch stars in the league is that that they know when they need to be "selfish" and when not to. On nights when all of your teammates can't make a shot, as the "star" of the team, you need to take matters into your own hands and "manufacture" points. Hayward is stronger than KD, he should have been taking it strong to the basket and gotten himself to the free throw line more often since his shot wasn't falling. Yeah, KD is long and might be a good defender, but as a competitior you don't back down like a *****....The only player out there showing any fight/pride was Gobert. He's the only guy on our team that shows the same fire/intensity every single night.

We can be like Ty Corbin and dust this off as "it's just one game", but this loss to Golden State is very disturbing and should open everyone's eyes as to how far we are from really being a true contender in the Western Conference. We're nowhere close...

It's kind of a silly conclusion to draw just because we can't compete with Golden State while missing 4 of our best 6 players.

I think this is mostly accurate. I think Hayward is above "borderline All-Star" or maybe a more accurate term is "borderline all-star in the Western conference". He just doesnt have the speed or insane length most other stars have to truly score at will in the most desolate of situations. I dont think he needs his supporting cast to necessarily play well, but he needs them to at least be a threat to play well.

When Diaw is bricking that many open looks early, Mack and Exum are that ineffective (and detrimental at times), and Hood isn't healthy, it makes it really tough for him to do much against the length of KD. There just isn't another source of consistent playmaking or an effective way to get him easy looks.

Take Curry, Draymond, and Igoudala off the Warriors. Give KD diarrhea that only lets him play 16 minutes in the game. Does a Klay Thompson carry a Warriors team to victory against a fully healthy Jazz team in SLC?

Yes because a fully healthy jazz team doesn't exist
